Beautiful course, great conditioning, friendly staff, great facilities, nice bar/restaurant with a gorgeous view. Barbacoa nachos were huge, great to share, and yummy. one of my favorite West burbs courses.

Incredible natural beauty with really fun golf at a reasonable price; hard to beat! Staff are also friendly and the restaurant is top notch especially for a public golf course.

Great course, don’t play here often but it’s definitely worth playing. Hands down probably one of the top 10 courses in Chicagoland. Top notch club house, restaurant is great. Very difficult getting tee time so enjoy when you have an opportunity to play. Score a 82 from middle tees. greens are average speed, not slow or fast. overall course is well maintained and unique layouts.

Top five course in the area. Easy 1st hole followed up by a monster 2nd hole. and just gets better and better!!! Tee times get booked up quick but a good system so if your lucky you can find a good prime cancelation spot. Newer clubhouse but the track got a refresh like 5 years ago I think. So a lot of people are still sleep on this place. But this is a favorite of mine for sure.

If The Preserve at Oak Meadows were a person, it’d be that good-looking friend who always insists on hiking before brunch — you love them, but you know you’re about to suffer a little.
This place is gorgeous. Fairways are pure, greens roll like they’ve got somewhere to be, and the layout punishes every lazy swing. It’s not unfair — it’s just a reminder that golf is a sport for people with selective memory and expensive coping mechanisms.
I actually played fine — an honest 83 with a few junk swings sprinkled in for humility. But my partner? Man, he lit up the front nine like he was auditioning for the PGA, then crumbled on the back like a stale Nature Valley bar. The Preserve didn’t beat him — it slow-cooked him.
By hole 16, his eyes had that “am I even good at this?” glaze. I offered encouragement, but let’s be honest — the course had already won.
After the round, we posted up at the clubhouse — which feels more like a modern resort than a muni. Big patio, great food, plenty of beer on tap, and the kind of post-round vibe that makes you forget how many sleeves you lost. Honestly, it’s one of the best hang spots in Chicagoland golf.
In all seriousness: the conditions are top-notch, the design rewards smart play, and the wildlife and scenery make it feel like a real escape from the Chicago sprawl. Just bring all 14 clubs, a sense of humor, and someone else’s golf balls.
