I AM POSTING THIS REVIEW FOR SOMEONE ELSE THAT HAS SEEN SOME OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEING POSTED.
Houndslake Country is a Country Club/Golf Course not a “playgournd” or “city park”. Golf Rules apply at all times.
Pace of play should be respected at all times, which is, 2 hours for 9 holes and 4 hours for 18 holes. Don’t spoil other golfers’ rounds.
Groups cannot choose which 9 holes they want to play when there are Tee Times on the books. Rules are put in place for a reason and need to be followed.
Everyone pays for cart seats, even if not playing. Cart fees are used to maintain the carts and if the cart is being used, whether by a golfer or just a friend riding, fees are applicable to all in the cart.
Club members have privileges outside of public rules.
A new greenskeeper was brought in and course improvements are in process but take time.

First of all the course is in terrible shape. Reminds me of Indian Trail before it closed. The fairways are terrible, tee boxes feel like concrete, bunkers need major attention, drainage needs addressing. The greens were not terrible. Harnessed by the course Marshall a couple times for slow play, but weren’t holding up anyone. Made the turn and slow customer service was met with you guys need to get to it. Well if you hadn’t taken 15 minutes to ring up a couple drinks we would have been on our way. The price for a round of golf does not equate to the quality of the course. Will definitely not be back to this course.

I don't know how often or if ever these reviews are seen by management, but I hope this one is seen! First off, I never complain about your course when it's not in the greatest of shape. I know how wet it gets after a hard rain due to the layout of some of the holes. No big deal, you know what you are getting when it happens and you choose to play. However, yesterday I just shrugged it off, but the more I thought about it the more it aggravated me. 1. It hasn't rained in a week, yet there were spots on the course that were sludge. 2. The majority of your sand traps are over grown and don't look like they've been maintained in months. 3. Tee boxes were horrendous. When I use a tee that is 3 1/4 long and I have to force it in the ground that's a problem. 4. When said tee is in the ground and the grass is almost as tall as my tee (and I tee up high), another element of your course that has been poorly maintained. 5. The straw that broke the camels back. Not honoring your reserved fee! I booked online and it was as in the picture $36 per golfer ($144 for a foursome). So, I was quoted $25 for greens fee and $11 for the cart. Yet at check in, we were charged $196 ($49 per golfer). The price was wrong, okay cool... but not my problem for 1, and 2 when asked if there was anything you could do... you give me a voucher for $35 a player for a foursome that expires 1st of October. So you charge me for your mistakes and the best you can do is take $1 off per person of your normal weekly rate. A good business would honor their price, or at the very least apologize it wasn't updated and offer something better than $1 off a round. I wish the clubhouse was still open when we finished so I could gladly give you your back handed offer back to you, because apparently poor service is the forte and direction your establishment is headed. All you have to do is read some of your recent reviews to see it's not just me. Gotta do better.

The course layout is pretty nice, with many challenging holes. Unfortunately the conditions leave a lot to be desired. And the cart paths are terrible. They do have a nice clubhouse with many room options for large or small groups and parties.

Houndslake Country Club is absolutely beautiful. It has stunning views of lakes and mature trees, as well as incredibly manicured lawns. The golf course was challenging, but also appropriate for those who may be new to the game. The hills create a feeling of seclusion, but the location couldn't be more convenient. The golf carts are newer and very well maintained, and the price to play honestly feels like a steal. The water coolers at the tees were very clean, and the water was fresh and cold. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I are planning our next visit already!
