This course is owned by the same company as the larger 36 hole facility up the road, but the experience here is completely different in a good way. This is a smaller, more traditional 18 hole course, and it has that older, classic feel that you do not always get anymore. It was built on open land, and it fits the geography around here really naturally. One of the things I enjoy most is how peaceful it feels. The perimeter is basically flat farmland, so you get wide open views and a calm, quiet atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and just play golf without feeling like you are wedged into a busy development.
The course itself is well cared for, and get this, they actually maintain and restore their sand traps. That might sound like a small detail, but golfers know it is not. So many places let bunkers turn into hard packed dirt or weedy pits that punish you in a way that has nothing to do with skill. Here, the traps look like someone actually takes pride in them and keeps them playable, which says a lot about the maintenance standards overall.
The new clubhouse and restaurant are a big highlight. The clubhouse feels fresh and inviting, and the restaurant has honestly surprised me in the best way. The few times we have been there, the food has been excellent and the overall experience has felt more like a place you would actually choose to go for dinner, not just a typical golf course grill. Whoever is running the kitchen seems really on top of things, and you can tell there is a chef behind it who takes pride in what they are doing.
My one complaint is the bar area. It is kind of small and cramped, especially if you want to sit along the rail and have a meal. The vibe is a little tight and almost reminds me of being in somebody’s basement bar, which is not what you want when everything else has been updated so nicely. The restaurant side feels like it has moved forward, and the bar still feels like it is stuck in the past. An upgrade there would make a huge difference.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable and peaceful course with a great new clubhouse and a restaurant that is genuinely impressive. If they refresh the bar area to match the rest, it would be an even better experience.

A countryfied golf course in the middle of Lorain county. It is reasonably well maintained except for the following areas; The tee boxes are pretty pocked marked with divots. You can see where they are trying to fill the holes but they need lots more sand to get the job done.
The cart oaths are like negotiating a mine field with bumps, pot holes and raised root areas. There has to be several hundred dead pine trees that are an eyesore and should be removed. The fairways are a long distance from the tees on the par 4 and 5s even for our longest hitters
The bright spot on this layout is the greens. They are very well maintained, roll true and very consistent. Kudos to them for the greens.

Fine course price was below average 18 for the region 2 drinks $8 can’t beat it! Tee boxes seemed great greens good Only negative no brats or all beef hot dogs

Starting out the older pro shop employee was extremely rude. The course conditions were barely playable, not all holes are labeled so if you have never been here finding your next hole can take a minute. The pro shop drink cooler could have been colder for the drinks they had and could have provided more food options than a Milky Way candy bar. Also carts were not in great shape . Would not recommend for the price .

This course has one thing going for it: It's cheap. If you just want to get out onto a piece of land where you can hit golf balls and it resembles a course, this is your place. The conditions aren't exactly good, I'm fairly certain they don't have an irrigation system of any kind, most tee boxes and fairways are absolute rock.
The layout actually isn't bad and could make for a decent course, but it's going to need a lot of work. They just updated the club house and looks like they're wrapping up that work now. Unfortunately it needs far more than a clubhouse renovation to make this course anywhere I'd like to return to. I genuinely want to like it, but the conditions are just bad.
