Sand Barrens Golf Club Tee Times

Charging people $115 for this place is highway robbery. Bunkers look like they haven't been touched in months. Can't even play out of most of them if you go in. Fairways and greens in decent shape but nothing special by any means. The rest of the property hasn't seen fertilizer or a rake in what looks to be an owner bailing on the property with an impending sale on the way in a couple months. Unfortunate situation for what could be a solid course if maintained properly. Don't waste your time here when you can go down the road to Shore Gate for the same price and a vastly better experience.

Great staff, great facilities, and an awesome course unlike anything else in South Jersey. I love all the exposed sand that they use as waste areas all over the place. However let it be known that this course was bought by the Union League in Philadelphia and will be going private and no longer playable for us the common masses in the future. Play it while you can.

Played North and South nine's on August 27,2014. Played there for past seven years and was not keen on returning this tear due to bad fungus on most greens encountered last year. However, i am very happy to report that the greens and the entire course was in great shape. They must have put a lot of money into getting the greens back and happy they did since this course is a lot of fun. So if you weren't happy with course conditions from past few years, the course is in great shape now. For those who haven't played Sand Barrens, the course is fair and challenging (mostly narrow fairways, dog legs, lots of waste bunkers, challenging pin placement on sloped greens) and is one of my S Jersey favorites. Very happy its back in great playing shape --- I'll be back...........

Like most places here, prices were inflated. It was cool making my tee time online, but when I got out there the starter didn't have me on the sheet. Early morning tee times were 100+ and I payed 75 to tee off at 11:30 in the summer. The course wasn't in bad condition but no where near as nice as I expected for the money. Course back where I'm from would be about 40 for comparable conditions. Next time I'm here I'll definitely play somewhere else. Also there was no cart girl, no alcohol, and not many yardage markers.b

Has the strangest alcohol rule I've ever heard. Won't serve beer unless you book tee time 3-5 days in advance. No information posted about this rule anywhere. Only fine out when you try to buy.
