I have played and experienced many different types of golf courses in the St Louis area and over the river over the last 3 Years. I play Golf all year round at least once a week. I have found my favorite place to play Sunset Hills Golf Course & Banquet Center. The Golf course is a challenge not recommended for hackers or players who are rude and inpatient , I am able play this course without losing too many Balls. The Greens are kept up very well compared to the rest of the ones I have played. I am always seeing the ground crews busy at grass cutting great looking fairways. I Like the better Clientele of players that this Golf course attracts. Highly recommended. FYI I do not know anybody at this Golf course at a personnel level or friends or Family Just a golfer giving my Honest Opinion of my experience.

For the money I can not complain about the course. The fairways and greens were decent. The course is not tough but it was fun to play. Several water hazards ate a few of my balls.
The staff was nice and the food was decent at a fair price. Golf carts were clean and ran well.

This was the worst course I've ever played. The grass was so long you couldn't find your ball in the fairway half the time. If you rolled in the rough the ball was gone. Lost 6 balls in 4 holes and all my shots were in play. Quit playing because it was so bad. i went back to the clubhouse to ask for a refund or a raincheck and was told no. Then they told me they knew how bad it was because the lawnmower was broke and we're sorry they forgot to tell me. I was charged $54 for 2 people with a cart for 9 holes. This place is a complete disaster. STAY AWAY!!!!! Riverside is nicer and way cheaper.
(Edit). Just found out they double charged me and now they won't answer the phone when I call. I'm disputing with my bank now.

My husband and I decided to go to the driving range for a night out and we were really looking forward to it. When we arrived we went to the automated ball machine and swiped our card for $15 worth of balls, it did not seem to work. So we did it again and it spit out about five balls. There was no one working on site, so I had to search the internet to find a number to call to get ahold of someone since they didn't have a number posted on the machine. Finally when I found a number, I called and the woman I spoke with was very rude, and rushed me off the phone and said someone will take care of it. We waited 45 minutes with nothing. We expected someone to show up to come and help, but no one ever did. My husband then decided to try and call, she said someone will be there around 5, and your account will be credited, or the guy can pay you thanks bye.(it was 345) She did not even take his name or know who he was to refund the money too. When someone finally showed up around 6 o'clock, he claims he did not have any money for us, and if we wanted to take a few balls we could. We called the number one more time to make sure our account would be credited the $30 back, and she kept assuring us yes it will be we had to tell her our name in hopes that this would get done. 3 days later, I checked our account and there's still nothing only our pending charge for $30. I called the golf course, and it was the same woman that answered, she told us to call back on Wednesday and talk to the manager he has to refund our money. This was a giant cluster f*** of an ordeal and I will never go back again. All we wanted to do was drive a couple golf balls on a nice evening out. Major fail. I'm assuming I will never get my money back. Lesson learned.

Honestly my experience was bad from start to finish. First I walked in to pay my fees, and after asked if I could eat my sandwich I had bought from the gas station at the tables in the clubhouse. He told me he couldn't, And the "restaraunt" is how they make their money. First of all, 99.9% of people playing at a public golf course are not planning on eating before hand. Sometimes a hot dog and a bag of chips on the fly, but nobody is expecting an attempt at a full service restaurant sharing a room with a clubhouse, and everyone either eats before or grabs something on the way. It was hot as hell and wanted to eat inside, and he basically said we had to eat in our carts (no outside seating). Now let's go to the course. Absolutely horrible. It's like playing in somebody's backyard. Half of the fairways are dirt and mud, greens poorly taken care of, and overall course was in horrible shape. There are way better courses that are in the same price range in that general area (Pevely Farms, Ballwin, Spirit Golf course). I would never in a million years come back there and play. Garbage.
