Hidden River Golf Course is a gem tucked away in a picturesque setting that seamlessly blends the beauty of nature with an invigorating golf experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this course was not just another addition to the list of golfing destinations but a well-crafted haven for enthusiasts looking to enjoy a memorable day on the greens.
The first thing that strikes you upon entering Hidden River is the stunning landscape surrounding the course. Lush green fairways traverse rolling hills, beautifully framed by tall trees that whisper tales of the countless rounds played over the years. The views are nothing short of breathtaking, especially as the sun rises or sets, casting a warm glow over the entire area. The well-maintained greens and fairways showcase the meticulous care given by the grounds staff, reflecting the course's commitment to providing an extraordinary golfing environment.
Throughout our round, we were treated to a vivid display of vibrant flora, with colorful wildflowers adding splashes of color along the fairways. Every hole presents its own unique vista, with some fairways opening up to panoramic views of distant hills and serene water features that enhance the overall ambiance. It felt as if we were playing in a painting, and this visual splendor only heightened our appreciation for the game.
One of the standout features of Hidden River Golf Course is the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment we checked in at the pro shop, the team was welcoming, friendly, and attentive to our needs. They took the time to give us insights into the course layout, recommending specific holes to focus on while also ensuring that we were equipped with everything needed for an optimal round.
As we played, the beverage cart staff was always around, offering refreshments and snacks at just the right time without being intrusive. They genuinely seemed to care about our experience, asking how we were enjoying the course and making sure we had everything we needed. This level of service made us feel valued and enhanced our overall experience, allowing us to focus entirely on our game.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of our visit was the pace of play. On the day we went, the course was not overly crowded, and the pace was absolutely perfect. We encountered minimal wait times between holes, allowing us to maintain our rhythm while also soaking in the breathtaking scenery. It's clear that the course management understands the balance between providing access for players while maintaining an enjoyable pace, which is often a challenge at many golf courses. The smooth flow made for a relaxed atmosphere, and we finished our round feeling refreshed rather than fatigued.
Hidden River Golf Course offers a diverse range of challenges, particularly on the front nine. Each hole presents its own set of obstacles, from strategically placed bunkers to undulating greens that require skill and precision.
While the challenge can be intimidating, it ultimately enhances the overall experience. Successfully navigating these tougher holes gives an exhilarating sense of accomplishment. The layout encourages strategic thinking, prompting players to consider risks versus rewards on nearly every shot. This thoughtful design elevates the game, making the course not just a test of skill but a rewarding experience that leaves a lasting impression on every player.
In summary, Hidden River Golf Course is more than just a place to play; it is a beautifully designed course that offers stunning views, exceptional service, and a perfect pace of play. The challenging holes, particularly on the front nine, provide an exhilarating golfing experience that keeps you engaged and eager to come back for more. This course has undoubtedly earned its place as a top destination for golf enthusiasts seeking both beauty and a challenge. I wholeheartedly recommend Hidden River to anyone looking to enjoy an unforgettable day on the greens!

Fun layout, well maintained, good pace of play. Course will challenge you in different ways. No holes feel redundant. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues.

The course itself is lovely. I enjoyed the round overall, though the pace of play was a bit slow at times.
What could be improved is the customer service experience. When I checked in with a certificate for 18 holes, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and insisted it wasn’t valid. To avoid holding things up, I paid, but it left a sour impression. Later, the ranger also spoke to me in a way that came across as condescending, which was disappointing.
On a positive note, the beverage cart attendant was wonderful—friendly and professional, and she definitely added to the experience.
Overall, the course itself is lovely, but I hope future visits will come with a warmer and more respectful customer experience.

Great course, courteous personnel. Very well laid out through the property. Girl at the grill outside was great. Served our burgers right to tables after our first 18. We will return!

Absolutely amazing course. Picked to play here rather than going over to Boyne, and it was the right move. The course has an amazing layout. Front nine has a little links feel to it and the back take you through the woods. It’s in amazing condition. Well worth the price. Joe, the super intendant has done amazing work. Could not recommend this course enough.
