Absolutely beautiful golf club. The parking lot alone is carefully curated and manicured under a canopy of monkeypod trees. Just golfing with the mountains as the backdrop, green as far as the eyes can see.

Makai Golf Course is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth a round if you’re visiting Kauai. The views alone make it a memorable experience. One of the Par 3 greens was a bit rough when we played, but overall the course was in great shape. The clubhouse and amenities are on the simpler side, so don’t expect anything too fancy — you’re really paying for the location and the scenery. On the plus side, the new Callaway rental clubs were fantastic, easily some of the nicest rentals I’ve ever used. There’s no bottled water available, but they do provide filtered water stations throughout the course, which worked fine. I’d definitely recommend Makai to anyone looking to play a scenic, enjoyable course while on Kauai.

This is the second time for our family to do the Makai Golf Club sunset tour. The cost is about $120 per couple with tax (only two allowed to a golf cart). Your tour is about an hour and half to two hours and you visit various places along their huge land mass. At each stop, an experienced tour guide talks about the history, views, trees, flowers and wildlife. It’s a fun event for kids and adults alike. Here’s a few shots from our recent experience.
