Been coming here for 25years. Absolutely horrible shape. Asked to speak to a manager and told him about my experience, informed on that I've been coming here forever not only that but I learned to golf here in my younger days. The sand bunkers are all overgrown and are not sand bunkers, there's no water around the back nine where it used to be a moat and you'd have to cross the bridge. The bridge has plywood as a fix to cross the bridge. Overall horrible experience and very dangerous not to mention the overgrown trees and lack of grass throughout the fairways. I was baffled when the manager looked me straight in the eyes along with his assistant and told me that this is the best it's looking in a while I think it looks great. The lack of wanting to do better wanting to maintain a higher standard is saddening to me. This is a nice little course in Tempe a hidden gem. I wouldn't recommend coming to this place for their price. A reasonable price for walking here would be 10 to $11, I wouldn't pay any more than $15 for riding. There's one thing I'd like to note that the manager did say to me to try to justify how I felt about the course. And that is his response was plain and simple "we're looking to sell the course in this next year" and that explained everything in summed it up. Needless to say this will unfortunately be my last time playing here and I wish you the best Shalimar I had good memories here.

Beautiful golf club! Luxurious bathrooms scattered throughout, raised tee boxes, grand displays of decorative items, and great views are some of the major highlights of this facility. Great location, great people, fun times! Highly recommend the Shali!

Very fun golfing on my birthday. Pretty easy course. Could be in better shape, but that isn’t the main reason you go. LOTS OF DUCKS!!! Sad that it is closing! Overall 4/5. I recommend going before it closes

I'm not a golfer, but last night I helped take a Youth Group consisting of 5 Young Men (11-17 years old), and 4 Parents, to the Shalimar Golf Club driving range. The boys were particularly excited to hit some golf balls; and with the promotion of their "Night Driving Range" with "lights on the driving range", I thought this would be a great experience.
Well, I was wrong:
For future reference, and to my surprise, apparently Shalimar Golf Club's promotion of "lights on the driving range" doesn't mean that they turn the lights on. And, when I asked the staff (at 7:15PM) if they could turn on their lights, because we couldn't see anything, they informed me that they "didn't know how to turn on the driving range lights". That seemed to be an odd challenge for a golf club that openly promotes their 'night driving range with lights' on their website (see attached image).
I'd like to comment on the quality of the range (i.e., it seemed to be more sand and dirt than grass), but we couldn't see very much - making any review of quality likely to be inaccurate.
So, we quickly hit the balls we'd paid for into the darkness, and then spent a majority of time on the putting green (someone apparently knew how to turn those lights on).
I would like a refund for the balls we hit into the darkness, and would NOT recommend going here for the night driving range, unless you're in the middle of the Arizona summer with trusted natural light (and heat) lasting later into the evening.
As for positives... their location was easy to get to/convenient.

Say solid little old school Par 3 golf course in the middle of Tempe but well kept. Driving range. Clubhouse. shop. bar and restaurant with a great patio. They host special events and even sometimes have live music
