I have played here many times and it never disappoints. The layout is fun and it has a local vibe. The greens are always in great condition and work is always being done to improve.

Really enjoyed playing this course! Speed of play was a bit slow but great views made it more bearable. Challenging, fast greens. A lot of dog legs. Yet, not too much water or long grass which made it much easier to find our shots (and not lose strokes). Will be back soon!

My girlfriend and I came down from Madison on a Saturday and enjoyed the course so much we came down the next day to play it again. With the exception of one spot on the fairway of the second hole which had some damage (possibly from the heavy rains this summer) the course was in excellent shape. It’s a fun, challenging course with tree-lined fairways, doglegs (with big trees guarding the corners so, unless you can go over the trees, you can’t just cut the corner and play it like a straight shot), uphill and downhill holes, water, plenty of sand bunkers, etc. The trees can make for some tricky shots if you miss the fairway, and you may need to punch it back out into the fairway, but the rough is cut pretty short and the trees are trimmed so you should be able to find your ball and hitting out of the rough isn’t tough. That makes the course forgiving enough that beginners can have a lot of fun, but better golfers will also be challenged because you’ll need to be accurate if you want to score well. The greens were in great shape with colored flags indicating if the flag is in the front (red), center (white) or back of the green (blue). There are 100, 150 and 200 yard makers in the fairways and there are posts at the 150 mark (posts at 100, 150 and 200 would be nice, but that's a minor complaint). There’s drinking water in a few spots on the course as well as bathrooms, and the drink cart came around several times. The tee boxes are flat enough that you can easily find a good spot to tee off from. Saturday, the course wasn’t dead, but it also wasn’t so congested that we were waiting a lot, and we didn’t have groups behind us really pushing the pace and waiting on us either. We were able to relax and golf at our pace and enjoy the entire round (which took a little less than 4 hours). Sunday, we golfed during the Packer game so we practically had the place to ourselves which was awesome. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get cell service out there (Verizon) so I couldn’t use my app for scoring and getting distances. They don’t have a course book with distances to carry bunkers, water, etc. so range finder would be really helpful on this course. For reference, a few of our favorite courses right now are Pleasant View, Odana and Prairie Woods. I think Evansville is similar in terms of difficulty, but probably more forgiving in terms of finding your ball on errant shots. Overall, I thought the course was in great shape, really fun, the staff was friendly and it was a really enjoyable weekend of golf. We're looking forward to going back.
