We checked into to this resort on October 23, 2025 in preparation for our daughter's wedding that weekend at the resort. After reading several reviews I was nervous especially from being out of town and hosting 200+ guests for the weekend. From the time we checked in and throughout the entire weekend I could not have been happier with how everything played out! It is true, this is an older venue, it has it's visible flaws, however the service, kindness, and overall vibe really overshadow the flaws! Larry was so accommodating with our ever changing rooms / guests / stays etc. Aaron was very responsive to all of our wedding needs, April and Josh were complete superstars especially the day of the wedding. My daughter may not have been bridezilla but her mom, "me", is very demanding. Audrey may have been everyone's favorite person by the end of the weekend, she kept us so very well hydrated and kept the party pumping for everyone. The wedding was on Saturday, the appetizers were amazing, the food was warm and tasted great. Every need we had was met with a smile and generosity. We even had an after party in the bar after the reception with pizza and burgers. Everyone has raved about what an amazing weekend they had, not one person complained about the rooms, the age of the hotel or anything else. With a few upgrades this will be THE place to have weddings in the future. It was so nice to have everyone on the same property for the whole weekend.

This resort is really run down and showing it's age. It's in a really pretty location. Great scenery. It looks like something from the 70's. The layout of thr rooms are nice and for the most part the were clean, but again showing their age. The golf course looks nice. I didn't play because it was late November and cold and wet. Lots of leaves out their. We checked in unpacked and found out our fireplace wouldn't work work. We called for help but nobody answered. Their email system worked great. They responded quickly. Maintenance could not get it to work. He left, came back, and said there was parts on order for it. We wanted a working 🔥 fireplace so they offered us another unit. It was close by, but we had to repack and move. The Maintenance crew were nice and told us they would assist us with the move, but by the time we packed they were gone. When we arrived, their was 18 inches of leaves in front of the entrance. I had to get a broom to clear the walkway. It was very windy that day so I get it. Here is my point. If you have a reservation why not check on the unit just before they arrive to make sure everything is ready and operational. Anyway, we did enjoy our stay. We would never return, and I wish them well in the future, but it is an old facility that needs attention. The roadway entrance, and parking lot needs resurfacing badly. Good luck Lakeview. This must of been one beautiful place when it opened in a beautiful location.

Hotel Review
I’m staying here now. I’m from Pittsburgh, migrated to Morgantown and I am hosting a wedding right up the road. The location was incredibly convenient as my wedding is just across the border in PA. I hadn’t seen the hotel, but after seeing the pictures posted online I felt this was a safe and reasonably priced option. In the beginning I had no intention of staying here. But after quite a few guests and family booked rooms here I thought I should join them….
Boy, I wish I would’ve stayed home. The pictures on the website must be from when they first opened the resort. The room is bare minimum. I don’t even have a dresser to put my clothes in, I’m using my nightstand. The smell in the hallway, quite frankly reminds me of something from my grandparents basement. The mold on the inside of the drain to the ice machine is rather disturbing. To hit the ball out of the park, most of my wedding guests staying here don’t have access to their television, including me because there’s no internet connection in the backside of the hotel. My bathroom door won’t close, the walls aren’t beige as the pictures depict, they’re all sorts of different colors based off which paint they had that day after they patched the walls. Needless to say, I guess I’ll eat the second nights cost cause my soon to be wife and I aren’t going to stay here. I’m truly embarrassed and disappointed I booked this location. I wish I had done more research and come out here and asked to see the rooms. I started to get worried a few weeks back when I contacted the hotel manager with questions and he never returned my call. I became further alarmed when I emailed him and he never replied. At that point I was too far into the commitment because so many other individuals had booked. I’m seething with disappointment and embarrassment. I wish with all my heart I had not booked the place.
