This is a very walkable course, but management doesn't allow players to walk the course on the weekends. They also don't allow players to play just 9 holes on the weekends. Never mind that a bogey golfer can easily play 18 here in 2.5 hours while walking (as I have multiple times on weekdays). Management said the no-walking policy is due to pace of play concerns, but there are other ways to enforce that. I've never seen policies like these at a walkable mediocre course before.
Instead, they require players to take their old, noisy, smelly diesel carts. Who needs exercise and fresh air when you can drive around sucking diesel fumes instead?
Hopefully they’ll start better serving their customers soon by allowing players of all types to enjoy the course, even on weekends.

BEWARE! Not even 1 star should be allowed for this. We just had a golf tournament here yesterday and my god this was the worst experience I have ever had in terms of playing conditions on a golf course. I can’t believe they let this tournament be held here in these conditions. This is embarrassing. I have played here for 20+ years and I wouldn’t even call this a golf course anymore at this point. They shouldn’t even allowed to be open in these conditions, let alone have people pay to play in these conditions. You can’t blame the weather for conditions like this. This is pure neglect. No course nearby is even close to these terrible conditions. Nearly every green is unplayable. Most tee boxes and basically all greens are full of weeds and fungus if anything at all. And if it rains here anytime within a few days of your tee time, be prepared for a mud fest and cart path only, although this course has never really drained very well prior to these conditions. The pictures speak for themselves and it is like this on nearly every single hole. It is coming to a point where they should just think about closing the course down for a major maintenance period or they should just close all together. Even the clubhouse is superiorly outdated inside and out and the exterior of the building is extremely filthy. Battlefield Golf Club is the only public golf course in Chesapeake worth going to at this point and Battlefield Golf Club is in good condition!

The pro shop personnel are great. Can use some maintenance on the greens and cart paths. However; I enjoy my time golfing their with my son. Keep up the great work. Jeff
