Good conditions in August of 2025. Despite 90 degree temps the week prior, the whole course, even downslopes were soft and spongey. Some dried mud patches at the low area. Tees could have some turf maintenance. I have a feeling they need to work on drainage or ensuring areas are not overwated in hot weather.
Onto the good! Staff was extremely friendly and happy to accommodate us on the golf package. We played 3.5 rounds here over 2 days. The starter was really nice. Despite wider fairways than some in Vermont, many fairways are sloped so it is important to not just hit the fairway but hit the correct part of the fairway. Holes are on the long side, so you must be accurate with driver. I found myself laying up on some par 4's that were fronted by Jay Brook and some intimidating brush. Great layout. Downhill holes on the back 9 are spectacular but on 15 and 18 it is imperative to hit the proper part of the fairway. 18 being CPO was extremely frustrating at the end of a long round. I did find the fescue to be so well watered it just ate balls rather than watching balls take the slope on hillsides, etc. The greens were wrll maintained and rolled true. On the slower side. I think $125 weekend mid season with ample divots and spongey turf is pricey for the conditions, but for the price of unlimited golf and a hotel stay it is actually a great deal. Course just needs some agronomy tlc and I am sure it is challenging to keep a course that far north in shape.
The folks in the restaurant are great. Hannah and Rita were very friendly. Bartender and chef as well. Smashburgers with sis boom sauce are juicy and really good. Nachos are a solid choice. I believe the Clubhouse Grille/Sis Boom is the best restaurant at Jay (certainly my favorite). Don't sleep on the hot dogs.

First off.... I love this golf course, 5 rounds here and it just gets better every time I make the trip up here... There are some of the most beautiful mountain views of any golf course in VT. Aaron in the golf shop was incredibly welcoming and made us feel like a member. If you find yourself anywhere near Jay Peak during the summer, make it a point to play here! The view into the 7th green is worth the greens fee alone.

This is a top 3 public course in New England. With a 153 slope from the back tees and elevation changes on most of the holes, this place ensures a challenging round even for the most discerning. A must play for anyone who appreciates unique layouts and beautiful views!
