Pretty nice course for the price! Couple holes with water and beautiful layout! They have a sweet lounge/lunch area and they always have a different classic car inside when you walk in too! It’s $65 for 18 to give you a run down and the food is pretty great as well.

****EDIT: Buddy played
sept 28 - Course - still recovering from torrential downpours. looked great. There is still 2 temporary greens but it's clear that they are making an effort not to have this happen again and regrown those greens that did need to be taken out of play.
Tee boxes are in some funky places - the super seeding is DEFINETLY effective.
I played yesterday morning OCT 2
Birkdale's BACK! Course was looking like the chesterfield staple golf course it is!
The pace of play is still really a struggle every time at Birkdale. It's not the pro shops fault, honestly, this should fix itself as birkdale is a tough course to walk - long stretches in between holes. Huge fairways & most of them are cart path only right now which can make the boomers stretch over a 5 hr round.

My first job, cart boy at Birkdale when I was 15, I took up the game of golf & will be 35 next year. I’m still playing golf, still playing at Birkdale. Same British guy owns it. Chris was The pro when I was In high school & he’s still there. There’s good people in the clubhouse.
$50 twilight golf starting at 1PM, Play as much as you want until sunset On weekends as well- brookdale employees were extremely upfront about the course conditions of their dreams and knowing it was subpar is the reason that the special is happening. We were warned about the greens two times more, I was starting to get concerned as to how bad it would be, but it’s just diseased grass and some of the greens actually are still quite nice. The fairways look phenomenal earlier in the year when playing here there was no car rules on more than normal amount of holes for super seating inside replacement and now that I’m coming back a couple months later I can see that the course is going to be in phenomenal condition due to these constraints that felt annoying at the time.
Cool thing about Berkdale is they’re still gonna remain an affordable course to play at public / private. If I had to be realistic conditions were a 2 1/2 at Best.
I will say practice areas look and feel phenomenal. I think this Is probably the reason why everybody was so upfront about the conditions once you got into the course, a bit more away from the initial 18 and first holes that you can see at the clubhouse.
I will eventually become a member there and would’ve sooner if the privileges for reciprocal privileges at Brandermill were better. Also, a lack of health and fitness center & events but I am just nitpicking here. I guess offering some feedback as to what would be more “enticing” for membership. I am friends with many of the members who have utilized the monthly lesson from the head pro & but I myself personally have not had a lesson with him. I have, however, asked questions about these lessons and some constructive criticism I could offer is the lack of enthusiasm around the lesson or even answer any questions was a bit off putting but only my first interaction with him. It was notable though because that’s the consensus across the board with members I personally interact with. I’m sure there’s members who have utilized these lessons and loved their experience. This is just mine, In this category.
Birkdale will always be my home course. For those looking at reviews before they drop off their young ones to walk 18 holes- This is one of those courses that is not a walkable course to be frank. There’s many holes that are Several hundred yards apart with winding trails as the course works its way through the surrounding homes.
Thanks! See ya’ll next week for my tee time ⛳️🏌️♂️

I’ve been hesitant to play this course all year based on reviews. However I gave it a chance in the worst time of the year to play golf, when the grass is dead and the leaves are heavy. I must say I was quite impressed with the current conditions. It appears that they over seeded the fairways and of course the rough is mostly dead. The course was challenging but also enjoyable to play. The staff was friendly. The putting green, driving range, and chipping area are in decent shape however are not the best based on other local courses. The one gripe I have with the play today would be the pace. We were keeping pace with a group ahead of us, however we were being pushed by two groups behind us. A starter on the weekends may be beneficial in making sure evenly spaced groups are going out. All in all I enjoyed my round today and will definitely be back to play again. I encourage anyone who questioned playing over the year to give it another shot, maybe in a better time of the year, it can only be better!
