I was visiting from California and was able to get a single player tee time I was added to an awesome threesome. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The course was very nice and there are some challenging holes but was an excellent course to experience. To my fellow threesome players that were with me, thanks for the great experience and I appreciate their hospitality and the hospitality of the staff at the course.

EDITED!!! They took my review down… anyone who finds it, read it and tell me it’s not true! What a joke.
I was excited to come down after I heard of the new sprinkler system going in around 2020. I played semi-regularly pre Covid at “Spanish Oaks”. But this couldn’t have been more of a disappointment.
First of all the bunkers were the most inconsistent sand traps I’ve played. Makes me feel lucky my home course is Sleepy Ridge (which is nothing to write home about). How hard would it be to have consistent sand throughout the course? Also, what an embarrassing “fairway bunker” on 8, and “green side bunker” on 16. Literally unplayable if you hit them in.
I don’t write reviews but this was the cherry on top. It’s been 4-5 years since this “new sprinkler system” was put in and the amount of scarring from the system was laughable. I was standing or hitting off of sprinkler lines ALL DAY. That being said it will take a lot of convincing to go play there anytime soon. Not sure a free round could get me back

The Oaks is right where you want it—easy access off the highway but feels tucked away. Tree-lined fairways give it character, and the elevation changes add some spice without being brutal. Greens are consistent and fun to putt on. Clubhouse is welcoming with cold drinks ready. Staff remembers regulars and chats about local tips. Affordable fees, especially for city-owned spots. Played a quick 9 and wished it was 18—great for families or solo. Solid all-around course that punches above its weight.
