It has been years since I played at Newport. Over the last 20 years the course has had better days. I was pleasantly surprised with the course and the conditions. The greeans and fairways were good. The improvements and attention given to the maintenance is noticeable. The course conditions were great for winter conditions. This will be in my rotation.

I had the pleasure of DJing a wedding at this venue yesterday night. Upon arrival, the grounds make a great impression, with a stately main building set on a sprawling green golf course. The facility is well maintain and nicely designed. I enjoyed the warm hospitality from the venue staff. The main room was nicely furnished, and the side rooms were also spacious and upscale. While my DJ booth was not in the ideal location for the ceremony, the planner communicated well with cues. My location was perfect between the bar and dancefloor during cocktail hour and reception. Overall, great views and sparkling chandeliers make this venue a winner for social a corporate events.

Racist golf course. We had a ride a long and were hounded 6 different times about our ride along playing after I told the front desk, starter and the Marshall that my son is a RIDE ALONG. When we finish we sit in the club house to eat and have some drinks, and sure enough the Marshall sits beside us FACING THE 10th HOLE. It almost seemed scripted and on queue, a group of five white kids TEEING OFF WITH BAGS to prove there are five people playing…..not a damn thing was told to those players. We usually play a group of 4 @ $62 a pop. Doing the math, that’s $248 every two weeks, that’s $896/month, multiply times 12. That’s what this golf course will miss from us per year!! Never playing there ever again. Course is shitty by the way.
