Very well maintained full 18 hole golf course. Green is quite fast. Course layout is not difficult. Most of the holes, you can see the green and flags.

I wavered between 2 vs 3 stars but think the course deserves this rating until some maintenance work is done to justify the steep rates comparative to the often poor conditions. Peak times often are $120+ and you can expect an average 5 hour pace with no Marshall’s speeding slower groups along. The ground is so hard, especially on the fairways and when combined with the over abundance of rocks, boulders, and bare earth covering the whole course you can expect to have to pick shots cleanly and even then balls will disappear after landing in the fairway after launching in wild directions. The greens, tee boxes and bunkers are fine, but overall the course is always dry no matter the season, which is odd considering how Teravista (the sister course) seems to be overwatered. The staff and the food are actually quite good, however that’s about the extent of praise I have for the current state of the course. Management has been price gouging, even going as far as increasing membership rates and removing certain discount privileges and the greed is both obvious and continually discussed with everyone I speak to at the course. The driving range has potential, although the machines are 50/50 on any given day with functioning. Overall this is a $50-$60 experience on a difficult track (by my opinion unfairly so due to the rocks scattering fairways and just into the rough) however the cost of play is over 2x more than the value. Unfortunately I don’t think prices will be dropping anytime soon, and by the same vein, the greed in bunching groups 8 minutes apart when a round runs 5 hours or more means that the owner is content with the current structure. Falconhead at least is a more visually appealing, fair, and better designed course, however the price and pace issues remain there too.

I can’t say enough good things about Avery. Everything is top notch:
-The range is the best around with top tracer and the Mats that tee up the ball for you l, incredible.
-the staff in the club house are really easy going and helpful
-the course is in amazing shape and the pace of play is so much better than any other public course I’ve played in the Austin area
-The GM, Max Turek is just so cool. Could not be more helpful. Any questions or requests he responds right away.
