Played yesterday for the first time at Rockwood…
After reading the previous reviews I was a little concerned, they were saying that the staff was extremely rude in that the condition of the course was pretty rough…
I actually found it to be completely. The opposite for staff was very helpful and friendly and the course was in excellent shape… A few minor issues on the edge of a green or two, but that was all. This is a jam of a course built in 1938 and it still has some of the original bridges and tables Which is extremely cool.
I would definitely recommend giving it a shot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Great course. Challenging but not unforgiving, you can find your ball if you dont hit into the water. Very affordable!

This golf course is very nice overall, but the holes are close to each other, which can feel a bit unsafe.
My ball (a Titleist Pro V1 with a blue line drawn on it) was sitting in front of another hole’s green. I checked it carefully and then hit it. After that, a very emotional player approached me aggressively, insisting that he saw his friend’s ball roll there and that the ball I hit belonged to his friend. He began yelling and using extremely offensive language toward me.
I calmly picked up my ball and showed it to him right in front of his eyes, explaining that it was mine. Despite that, he continued to deny it and kept swearing before walking back to his friends. Unfortunately, some high-handicap players do not mark their golf balls, and it seemed he simply did not understand that basic concept.
Because of that incident, I experienced a sense of trauma. I heard swearing words that I had never heard in my entire life. However, I choose to forgive him. Ignorance is not a crime, but respect is a choice.. I still believe that 99.9% of people in this world are good people like the grandfather and his grandson whom I met that same day and had the pleasure of playing with for the first time.
I would like to make one request. Since some holes on this course are close together and balls can easily roll into adjacent fairways or greens, please mark your golf balls clearly. And let us all show consideration and respect toward one another.
I hope we all remember that golf is a game of etiquette and respect.

played yesterday and at the end of the day the marshal was extremely rude in trying to run us off the course. Still had daylight left and other people still on the course. He went to club house to bring other staff with him, accused me of cursing him and said I only paid for 9 holes. I have actually seen him do this before to someone else but thought that may have just been a mishap. I did in fact pay for 18 holes, and ended up in a heated argument with him, It was just my wife and I and every time I said "ok" to end the argument and leave, he would start mouthing off again. This guy was a middle aged Hispanic dude. The older white male he brought back with him was actually pretty laid back. Horrible experience!! Was supposed to go back with friends later in the week. Canceled and will play another course.
If you do visit this place, remember to ask the pro shop what time you need to leave, the pro shop was kind and the starter was kind, this Hispanic guy needs to either learn to be kind and communicate or be fired. Oh, we were in the middle of 17 when he started this. Only need 10 minutes to finish.

I worked with Brandon to host our baby shower and the process was very easy and affordable. The banquet room was very big and catering was awesome. My husband golfed as well and really enjoyed the course. Absolutely recommend for any event.
