My wife and I have a social media page that we run called Tucker’s Tasty Travels. We go all around the local area trying different restaurants and other various places. White Plains not only has a beautiful golf course but the restaurant is even more impressive. The staff is amazing and fast, the food is absolutely fantastic and the venue is gorgeous. We’ve been a few times and every trip seems to get even better. We can’t brag on this place enough. Well done White Plains.

Course was good, pace was good, food was really good, rates were good! The greens though... They were cut so low and the pin position on some holes was almost a side hill. Barely touching your putt above the hole if it was down hill would put it 40 feet off the green. Greens not very soft either - haven't had much rain so I get it. It's one thing to be fast and challenging, but some holes I would say were just unfair. Fun time though, all in all.

I never golfed much as a kid. My Grandpa Ron would take me with him occasionally, but I never had any love for the game back then. Only after he had his stroke on the course and was left unable to play, was it that I picked up the game as a way to honor him and to have a stronger connection to him in what would be his final few years on earth. I really hate that we never got to have a match together, or that I didn't harness his love for the game 30 yrs sooner than I did.
Over the last couple of years, I have had the opportunity to play with his nephew (my 2nd cousin) and it gives me the feeling that I have my Grandpa with me for the 36 holes we play each time we meet up.
Dave resembles my Gpa in so many ways. The personality, the joke telling and the smirk and smile as well.
Yesterday we each drove 2.5hrs from where we were and played White Plains Golf Club, in Pageland SC.
The course has come under new ownership recently and they are doing it big out there!! Over $15M in recent Renovations including a beautiful brand new clubhouse and restaurant. Beautiful white sand bunkers everywhere. Super fast Bentgrass Greens and undulations that would resemble rides at a State Fair.
The cost? You'll be sick...$45 weekday rate and a replay rate of $15-18..We each played 2 rounds of golf yesterday for just over $100 total!! Absolutely unheard of!!! When I say you wont find a better deal for conditions and price, I mean it and I would die on that hill!!
Winds were super crazy too. Uphill Par 5s were a struggle to reach in 3. The ball would almost come to a rest on the green and then would would push it another 20'+ at times. One almost stopped within 2' of the hole and next thing ya know it was 30 yards (yes, YARDS) off the front of the green..Amazing!! Not!! Lol
This is a must stop course if you're within 3hr drive!!
