Charwood is a unique course. There's a lot of sand, making it a lot different from most of the courses I've played. The course is lined with residential houses, which, combined with the sand, makes it one of the least aesthetically pleasing golf courses I've seen. There's also a couple of holes that look like they were added at the last minute and are not very well-designed. The worst thing about Charwood however, is that the members are very entitled. Two out of the three (2/3) times I've played there, members have just jumped on a tee right before my tee time, causing an obvious delay. I understand that members are the bread and butter of any golf course, but I do wish the staff would get a handle on this. I will say that the staff is very kind and helpful however. The best thing about Charwood is that it's not very expensive, and they have a great twilight rate. In addition, it's a pretty laid-back course, so it's good for people like myself who aren't very good.
All-in-all, I'd say that Charwood is ok, but not the greatest golf course in Columbia.

Decent condition course. Could be better. Greens are tough which I enjoy. Most of the staff is nice. Good value with an actually interesting layout. Staff handles opinions well.

Disappointed in greens. Just painted and in rough condition. We should have gotten a discount I feel. Only acceptable green was number 18. The course has some good holes and can play from various tees. Needs to have some real good maintenance done.
