Toftrees Resort Tee Times

On a work trip in November and the hotels power went out for five hours of the overnight trip. Pitch black most of the night, no back up lights, no one let anyone know what was going on or expected times for power to come back on. There was no back up generator. They would not refund my stay. Staff said they refunded 25$ to booking.com and booking.com said they did not.

Just finished our daughter’s wedding at Toftrees. The hotel is a bit dated for sure but the nature that surrounds it is outstanding. For a wedding destination this place is 💯! The outdoor ceremony location overlooks the golf course, pond and mountains - so beautiful. The wedding planner, Katie, is simply awesome at her job. She is completely devoted to ensure that your event is flawless and she delivered! She deserves a raise no matter what she is making. If you are looking to get married in the State College area, do yourself a favor and meet with Katie. Almost forgot to mention…The Fields restaurant on-site is a huge value! The food is outstanding the the prices are unbelievably low.

Celebrated friends wedding , the spot ectually very nice and all staff was great , coudnt give a good review about room , a/c wasn’t working , and when you turn on making so much noise I coudnt sleep all night , inside room very small and old.

Stayed here for a wedding on-site and the room was definitely on the lower end of hotel I’ve stayed in. Definitely outdated (which is fine, but could absolutely use a refresh and some color other than brown), but the room was very much not clean and had visible gunk spread throughout the room. The clean towels in the bathroom had hairs and other dirt in them, and worst of all was that the pillows were larger than the pillowcases so part of the pillow was sticking out no matter how much we tried to stuff it in. The ac unit in the room was also extremely loud and the sheets were quite scratchy. Heads up, the restaurant only offers a breakfast buffet on weekends and doesn’t have their full menu available, which messed up our plans since this wasn’t stated online. Also the employees at the restaurant seemed annoyed that we showed up for breakfast (all the other employees here were very friendly, so this was a stark change). The restroom at the restaurant was also very dirty so I ended up just walking back to my room to use the facilities. Credit where credit is due though, the tv had an excellent selection of channels, and the dessert at the restaurant was tasty and a good value. I also liked how large the bathroom mirror was and lots of counter space in there. The golf course looked nice from the parts I could see. If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely be staying somewhere else.

The front desk receptionist was very kind and friendly. Restaurant hostess was very rude to us when we walked in. They were busy and it was 930, she told us they closed at 10 and she didn’t want to seat us. A nice waitress came over and offered to seat us immediately and apologized, stating that they just can’t take orders after 10 and that we were fine to sit and eat. Milkshakes were great! Rooms were horrific. Tiny beds and room. I turned on the fan and it made the loudest noise, sounding like I was taking off in a jet. We were then forced to be very hot all night, rather than listen to the fan in the room. The bathroom was gross and outdated, with the bottom of the curtain and shower floor browning. The layout was confusing and hard to get to other rooms. We paid an outrageous amount to stay and were disappointed overall.
