Well I guess you truly get what you pay for, or well at least half. So the first thing that you should know is there is really not 18 holes. No, theres 9 holes that you play twice around, with the tees moved slightly forward or back. These can bee seen in the attached pictures. Another important thing is how narrow the course is. I'm by no means a good golfer, so I spent my fair amount of time in the woods. The course was not in great condition either, but not horrible. The sand traps however we're scarier than the thought of my parents on their honeymoon. I have a picture of this monstrosity attached as well. The scorecards I swear were screenshot from Excel and printed on the thinnest tissue paper esque parchment they could find in their ice cream stand of a clubhouse. Also, no map on the scorecards so don't be surprised if you get a little lost trying to find hole 6, or hole 15 depending on whether you're on the front or back "9"... I would have given the course at least a 2 star, but the course ranger didn't help that aspect. I got brutally scolded at and threatened to be kicked out for driving the gold carts around the green. Now I of course wasn't driving on the green I'm not that stupid, just simply near them. Like chill out old man, it's Hawk Valley in Denver, PA not Trump national. All in all, I can't recommend as it could be leaving you with the same remorse I felt. If only I spent $6 more to play at Fairview...

For what it is- it is an awesome course. $30 for 18 holes and a cart on a Saturday morning. Keep in mind to play 18 holes you're playing the same 9 holes twice, just from different tee boxes. The fairways were well kept the rough was -rough. Bare spots not too much high grass as I think of "the rough"... The greens were well kept and in good condition. The bunkers could have been kept up better- but for $30 I'm not complaining. To those reviews of severe negative conditions: if you're used to Foxchase, Honeybrook, and other 5 star courses, yes this is below the standard of those. But for $30 - you better not expect Mar-a-logo conditions!

If you know what you're expecting, this small course is great. $23.00 for 9 holes and a cart on the weekend, can't beat that. You can play 18 but you're just playing the same 9 holes over again just teeing off from different areas. It wasn't crowded either, so we could play at a good pace and got done in an hour and a half. The fairways were well cut and the greens were in phenomenal shape. The rough was rough. If you're expecting a Country Club experience, this isn't it, but if you're just looking to get out and play and not pay a fortune or play a 6 hour round on a weekend, this place is perfect. I'd much rather play here on a weekend than play Fairview. Have a small bar with hot dogs and burgers too. Definitely recommend.

I've recently started playing at Hawk Valley about 1.5 months ago. I have been playing here once or twice a week and everytime is great. Staff have always been pleasant, and the course is well maintained. It can get a little busy some days but that's most golf courses. I like to go early morning weekdays and it's so relaxing. Shame the course is closing after the summer

I've always liked this course. There is less to lie to recenyly. The front 9 is all homes, play the back 9 twice for 18. They have separate tee spots for the front/back holes by some are only 2-3 yards longer or shorter then the hole was the first time. Only few holes with considerable difference. 2 with completely different tee boxes. The course was in fairly good shape. Could use a trim, especially the rough. It was deep, really deep. Made finding a ball very difficult. Greens were in good shape. Price was good at 20 for 18 at 10am. Course was very busy, took 5 hrs to complete. Stay away from the pretzel dogs they are bad. Will play agin!
