This lodge was the perfect setting for a surprise birthday weekend getaway, and honestly… it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the landscaping and decor were stunning — beautifully maintained, cozy, and aesthetic in every corner. The staff truly made the experience. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely happy to help, which made the entire stay feel special and stress-free. The food was top tier, especially breakfast — the omelet station deserves its own shout-out. The omelet chef knew exactly what he was doing and made the best omelet I’ve had in a long time. You can tell when someone takes pride in their craft, and he absolutely did. They also offered great deals and fun activities throughout the stay, all hosted by staff who made everything organized, engaging, and enjoyable. Nothing felt rushed or poorly planned. Overall, this place is perfect for a romantic getaway or special occasion. Beautiful property, amazing staff, great food, and thoughtful experiences. I’ll definitely be visiting again

The skytop lodge was a relaxing spot to celebrate my 5 year anniversary and engagement with my fiancé. The staff were all extremely warm and welcoming, and eager to help in any situation. The property was gorgeous with a few activities to keep you entertained during the colder months. The historic tour of the property was the activity we most looked forward to, however, the tour guide never showed up. We were very disappointed, as this seemed pretty unprofessional at this price point. Another disappointment was the amount of expensive add-ons (paid activities, expensive restaurants and bars, and paid arcade) after paying a generous amount for a room here. The whole “no outside food and beverage allowed on property” rule felt infantilizing and like a desperate push for us to dine at the on-site restaurants. For this reason, I give this place 3.5 stars. Our room was clean and well-appointed, but could have definitely benefited from some interior design improvements. We had to drag a small couch across the room to enjoy the fireplace and puny TV. We did really enjoy the library lounge, the cocktails were fantastic. And we really appreciated the acknowledgment of our anniversary and the coupon gifts. We would possibly give this place another try in the warmer months but overall felt that Skytop’s attempt at luxury fell short..

I wish I could give 0 or even negative rating for a very disappointing experience at Skytop Lodge. The Main Lodge staff was extremely rude and came across as judgmental and unwelcoming. Their behavior felt discriminatory and racist, and instead of helping, they eye rolled on our requests. For a resort of this caliber, this was totally shocking and unacceptable. Beautiful estate though which requires lot of maintenance and most importantly polite and kind staff who can make you feel valued as a guest. During our stay, the power went down due to a storm. While storms happen in this area, it was surprising that such a large and expensive facility did not have proper backup generators to keep basic activities running. The room themselves were very outdated. The shower did not work properly, overall all the room felt old and poorly maintained, definitely not what you expect after paying a premium price. It says cottage when you book it but they are more of hotel styled arrangement with one cottage divided into 4 rooms. I thought meaning of the cottage is to have a small cozy space for just yourselves. We paid a lot of money for two nights for our anniversary, and the experience was absolutely not worth it. This stay was a complete letdown, and we would not recommend Skytop Lodge at all.
