45 dollars to hit off a tee box that has grass overgrowing the tee markers, to hit a fairway just for it to be the same as any rough on a normal golf course, and the rough to be up to your ankles. Not to mention the greens are like dirt and the bunkers are full of weeds looks like it has not been taken care of in a couple of months. Lady in the pro shop gave me attitude for booking a 4 o clock tee time because she wanted to go home and then slammed the key to the cart on the counter and walks away. The only groundskeeper around comes up to me mid swing and asks for my receipt and proceeded to tell me he did not think i paid when I showed him my email confirmation. Had to cut my round short because I could not play on the course any longer.

Holy smokes man. I wanted to be nice because I suck at golf, but even then it’s awful. I mean Jesus… I think I played better on this course because it’s just like hitting around my freaking backyard. Greenskeeper must gotten hit by a bus and crippled because it might not have been mowed for years. I landed in a bunker, but I didn’t know it was a bunker because it was fully covered in grass. I mean have you heard of weed killer????? Don’t even get me started on the cart paths. I’d rather drive through Afghanistan. For real though, did they drop bombs on it, or was there an earthquake? Holes 12 through 14 could’ve been a wildlife sanctuary because the geese walk all over. Other than that, the course has a great layout, and it is tough. Seriously though, maintenance goes a longgg way. Course has a lot of potential, but needs work.

This course has a lot of potential, but the price is a bit much for what it is (spring rate on the weekend is $40 with cart). The course has a lot of great scenery, the 9th tee box has an amazing view of Lancaster. If you're here as a tourist, the course is surrounded by Amish farms, and on the 6th tee you will often see cows watching you tee off. The greens are also decently maintained. However... the bunkers are consistently overgrown and have hard packed sand in them, when there is fresh sand it often has rocks in it. The fairways are wide, but have divots or large dead spots. The tee boxes could be better maintained, most have a lot of clover growing in them. The cart paths are very rough and the carts themselves are in rough shape. Many of the carts have chunks missing from the seats, they do not wash them after they are returned so many are dirty and it's not uncommon to find trash from pervious players in the carts. The current Spring rate on the weekend is $40 with a cart. Last year's spring rate was cheaper. Last season during the summer the price went up to $45 with a cart. It's becoming not worth the money to play here. There are better maintained courses in the area that charge comparable rates. Overlook is $57 on weekends and is a few miles away. Tanglewood is not too far either and is $45. Both these courses offer more bang for your buck. The Host remains convenient for me to play and I hope more improvements to the course continue.
