Nice course, well kept, friendly staff!

I was pleasantly surprised by this course. Only 9 holes and not very long but I really enjoyed my round. Dog legs and contour changes offer up good challenges. The short par 3's are made difficult with contour change and bunkers. Seems to me the bunkers are small and fairly deep - fortunately I did not get into any of them. No significant water to challenge one except perhaps the par 3 second.
Hole 5 is quite challenging. It's only 354 yards, but there is a roughly 140 yards gully in front of the green guarded by a severe upslope. It takes a good tee shot of over 200 yards just to get to the far edge of the fairway, then it takes a second shot that has to fly 140 yards in order to land on the green. Anything short is likely to be repelled backwards by the severe slope in front of the green. There is a small patch of flat grass in the bottom of the gully but laying up there is limited by its small size and invisibility from the fairway landing area. I have not quite figure out how best to play this hole given my limited abilities. On hole 6 by the green, I was fooled by the SwingU app that seems to show water by the green (it was actually the shadow of a nicely pruned tree) so I chose to lay up. The second time around I went for it and was able to get on the upslope to the green. Still bogeyed the hole.
When I was finishing up the first time I played there, the grounds crew were putting in Tiki torches in preparation for that night's night golf - wish I had known. It was a bit of a drive for me to get there but I thoroughly enjoyed it and probably will go back again. Perhaps it's the nice log-house of a club house which reminds me of my weekend home.

HANDS DOWN THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD AT A GOLF COURSE.
We started out getting in our cart and paying the 96 dollars to play, then we asked for some styrofoam cups for our 2 liter of soda. The manager asked if it’s for alcohol and I said no. Which was the truth, we had a bottle of 7 up to drink as we play. Then they actually searched our golf cart before we left and accused us of lying even though we had a 2 liter of soda but also had a pack of high noons in the cart. He made us put our pack of high noons back in the car, and was yelling at us to take them out or leave. We didn’t have an issue with that, but the tone of the manager completely ruined the start of the round. We didn’t think bringing a few drinks along would be such a big issue. He then told us with even more tone, “you can come buy drinks inside or play without them”. We listened and put our drinks in the car and started the round,.
Our group has played at dozens of courses and have never been treated with such suspicion and disrespect. It’s ridiculous and downright insulting. We get a course has rules but to completely disrespect a group of people and start to yell at them before they even tried to make the situation right is ridiculous. I genuinely have no idea how anyone let this person manage a business.
It really got insane when we came back after our round. We made a simple, polite comment to the manager about the terrible condition of the cart paths—they’re cracked, uneven, and really unsafe. ESPECIALLY to someone with a back injury or any other type of issue: I wasn’t rude, I just suggested they might want to maintain them better. Instead of handling it professionally, he raised his voice at me and told me to “put it in writing”. It was completely uncalled for and changed the whole tone of the conversation. I couldn’t believe how rude and unprofessional he was. No apology, no willingness to listen-just pure aggression towards a customer.
If this is how they handle basic customer feedback and treat guests, I truly couldn’t imagine what else is going on there. Save your money and your time—there are plenty of courses out there where you’re actually respected as a customer.
I wouldn’t recommend this place if they paid me to.
AND TO TWIN LAKES- if you value your customers in the slightest bit, maybe take note and treat people with some respect and kindness when they bring you their business.
