Not really anything bad you can say. Proshop and clubhouse are well stocked with lots of options. Greens are true and fast. Breaks are deceptive and challenging. Beautiful landscape. One of my favorite courses. Nice lush fairways, rough is thick in most places. Challenging but playable. Can't be beat for the cost. Im not one to normally give 5 stars but this place deserves it.

I started playing Apple Valley in 1979. Far different course back then, but the design and key components are the same today (they used to have railroad ties installed vertically on some holes, to create a hardscape in the side of the green. Absolutely beautiful and challenging, but not good to ricochet a ball off of if you thin one).
I played today after many years away and it is still a wonderful experience. The course design and layout is well-done, and the grounds are beautiful. There's a true driving range and nice putting green. The course can play long from the tips, but it is fair and challenging and most important; fun!
They used to have the best hot dogs and coney dogs in Ohio, as far as I am concerned, but I didn't get a change to sample one this time. The clubhouse is very nice, and it's easy to deal with the people there.
Look, this is a nice course in Howard, Ohio, near Apple Valley Lake. I saw a ton of divots not replaced, and many, many unrepaired ball marks in the greens (really, a lot). This is hard to deal with as a course owner - they do the best they can. I didn't see any 5-somes out there, although 6 people were playing a scramble and they waved me through and apologized. All you can ask for.
I highly recommend playing Apple Valley. It's a good course, a good experience, and great to play.

This public course is a gem in Ohio, absolutely gorgeous. From the open front 9 to the right back 9, I really enjoyed playing 18. The pace of play was a little slow with the front nine taking three hours, but not much the course can do.
