Grew up playing this course back in the 80’s, back in the days of the $6 Jr rate. A real kick in the chops to pay $80 as a non-resident, Saturday rate. lol Tees, fairways and greens are all in great shape. Even the secondary cuts weren’t bad. Especially for a County course. Especially for Bergen. Don’t dismiss it, most of the rumors aren’t true. We only saw 1 flock of geese on the back & zero goose shit on the fairways or greens. All greens rolled true. We didn’t miss any putts because of the greens. We teed off a little after 9am on a Saturday & finished in 4h40m. Wind was down all day, but can be a real challenge, especially when the westerlies kick up in the PM. At 232yds from the tips, #6 is an absolute monster of a Par 3, especially when the wind is up, as it’s almost always directly straight into your face. I wish they’d add a blended option to the scoreboard, just to bring this hole in play more. Tips. Bring bug spray. It’s kinda swampy, so mosquitoes can be bad. Also it’s located right next to a sewage treatment plant & the smell can be a tad strong at times, although nothing like back in the 80’s. They turned #9 into a Par 3. Anyone know why? #18 is now a par 5. I was so used to it being a 4, I didn’t even realize I birdied it until after I putted. I almost gave 3 stars because there’s absolutely zero water in the course, nor was there a beverage cart, on a hot, muggy Saturday. As a now-Floridian, I’m constantly chugging water and I was out of water by hole #4. Bring extra water if hydration is important to you. You can definitely do worse, if you have no other options. I’d probably skip it in the future, only because $80 is a bit much for this place. But they won’t miss me, the starter said they were booked solid until 6pm. There’s gotta be a reason why. Worst golf experience I have had in my 3 years of playing. Course was backed up with 10 minutes of waiting in between holes. Bergen Point only cares about money and not their patrons. Disgusting behavior.

$44 for twilight price wasn’t bad. Course wasn’t packed so got a lot of holes in. The greens were well maintained and fairways decent. It is an open layout so no worries there. It is a scoreable course wàwa wwtoo with the holes not being very long. I would come back to play if I was in the area.
