Mallard Head Country Club Tee Times

Everybody is friendly and good if you’re looking for a very casual cheap round. However, I do think everybody should have an idea of the course conditions. Limited to no fairway definition. Clover and crabgrass everywhere and bald spots lead to overall bad lies despite good positions. Most bunkers were in overall poor condition or had been allowed to grow in completely. Lots of random ground under repair areas in the fairway. Some carts need to be repaired or taken out of service. Blue painters tape is not a solution for straps not functioning effectively. Several tee boxes were in unacceptable condition for any course. Greens generally were the best maintained part of the course but there was still room for improvement. We did have a nice casual round and everybody we met was friendly, but ultimately people should be aware of the conditions before paying for their round. Photos of items mentioned attached below.

Truly enjoy this course and staff. The staff members are friendly and hospitable. Look forward to future outings.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how the course is updated. I truly hope the renovations bring it back to its full potential. It’s disheartening to see such a beautiful course — especially in an area like this — not being properly cared for.

Played here this afternoon (Sunday around 2pm) with overcast skies/slight sprinkle. The pace of play was extremely slow and then it started raining pretty good. We decided to back it up and go in and asked for a rain check. New management doesn’t offer “rain checks” so now we are out a whole greens fee since my partner and I were only able to play 8 holes. I have played here before so I knew what to expect regarding poor maintenance of the course but typically wouldn’t mind due to the price. I will now be taking my business elsewhere due to course conditions and the fact that they don’t offer rain checks when it’s raining. Not to mention I called earlier and asked if my 2 year old nephew could tag along on the cart and they said they would charge him a full fee. Anywhere else this isn’t an issue when they are just riding along. Will not be back.

The course is under new ownership and they are amazing! The course does need work and they’re working hard to perform these task. It’s a great layout and the course makes you think and place shots on doglegs. Tyler and John are great people who treated perfectly. Hope to come back more!
