It was in excellent condition—the fairways were clean, the greens were nice and everything felt really well maintained. You can tell the staff takes pride in keeping the course looking good.
The staff was also very friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great round on a course that’s definitely a cut above the typical county track. I’ll definitely be coming back!

After playing 2 full rounds at Darlington I feel as though I can offer an honest review of Bergen County’s best municipal course. My first round was one of the toughest I have ever played due to heavy rain during the entire round. Although it wasn’t fun to play in those conditions, I was impressed with how well the course drains. Today’s round was probably the best weather of the summer and it was a very different experience. Check in was smooth and easy and the starter was friendly. I found that the course plays hard with lots of sloped fairways, well placed fairway bunkers and diabolical greens. Also, the sound of gun shots from the firing range next to the course are really odd but it is what it is.
Putting was so difficult and frustrating after hitting the green in regulation, only to 3 putt for a bogey. It’s also a very scenic course with great views from every angle. If you really want to see some pretty landscapes be sure to look behind you once you’re on the green. The views of the mountains are stunning. I tried my best to capture the beauty of this place in the attached pictures. It’s a great course!

Nice layup, beautiful scenary and probably most challenging course amongst Bergen county courses. It is a hilly course and can be challenging to walk. They have good practice green and driving range.
