First time at Winston Lake in years. They have removed thousands of trees to open the course to more sunlight, and the transformation is amazing! The tees and fairways are excellent, and most of the greens are full. There are a couple of greens that look a little rough, but overall the course is very good. Staff is very friendly, even giving 90-year-old Charlie a "discount" from $120 down to $110...just kidding. Senior rate to play and ride during the week is $20. That's right, $20 to ride 18 holes for seniors! And $10 to walk!! Definitely wear comfortable shoes, because even though a lot of trees are gone, the hilly terrain remains.

Really enjoyed playing here. Saturday morning in August, course was green and in great shape (a couple greens had some bad spots but if you are the kind of person to get bent out of shape because of that...then you're either a jerk and shouldn't play here or you think your'e going pro once you fix that slice and you shouldn't play here either.) Course is great value, love the terrain changes.

Though I play often in the area, i played WL for just my second time today. The work they have done is great!! Course is beautiful, people are fantastic, facilities are outstanding. Best value in town for the money.
