I’ve been a resident of Minneapolis for 30 years 15 years downtown and now 15 years one block from Columbia golf course and I will say one of the main reasons my wife and I moved here was because of this golf course and park area.
It is the best of the 5 Minneapolis courses, and for the golfers who believe they are single handicap, this course will quickly humble you.
Joe runs a tight ship at this course and it is maintained extremely well for a city course or for any course really in the metro area.
I would say definitely come out and play this course and give it a try, But that would be a lie because that would just be another Tee time I can’t get😐 All jokes aside, its an exceptional layout for a golf course built right in the middle of Northeast Minneapolis
This course has a little bit of everything some water, plenty of trees and your usual sand traps. I play about 35 rounds a year at this course And still get out at some of the courses in the suburbs But I always come back to Colombia for the reasonable rates and discounts available to Minneapolis patrons.
You would want to use a pull cart at a minimum, but this is a riding cart golf course. I’ve seen too many people try walking it and struggle a bit if they are not in good physical condition. I have never walked this course in the 15 years we’ve lived here and I am under 50 years of age. You’d be much better off, taking the convenient walk path that is wrapped around the entire golf course and park area If you need the exercise. It isn’t worth getting injured on some of these steeper inclines and hills; don’t ruin your golf experience here by walking because you’ll be so exhausted hitting your neck shot you just won’t enjoy the scenic surroundings or your round.

Very well maintained, especially for a city course! The holes are fun and challenging and I’m a BIG FAN of multiple par 3’s on the front and back. The course is very walkable minus a few long treks (there are some good short cuts). The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Play does get a little slow especially on league nights, but it’s rare you are waiting more than a few minutes. We LOVE Columbia 🤗

I hadn't played Columbia for a few years. Overall, the course was in very good shape. Greens were great. There are a few holes on the back 9 that were pretty wet with some minor fairway repair, but nothing dramatic. A good value close to the city.
