Fairway Hills Golf Club is a solid place to get a round in, and the course itself was actually pretty fun to play. The layout kept things interesting, and the conditions were pretty good overall. It was cart path only during our visit, which made for a bit of a hike, but to be fair, it had rained for a week straight so that’s understandable. Where things fell short was off the course. The clubhouse had extremely limited food options, and on the day we played, no food was available at all. We were told it was because there was a tournament scheduled for the afternoon. I’m not sure how that adds up—why I can't get a glizzy off the roller because a group’s teeing off at 1 p.m. is beyond me. The staff also seemed more focused on prepping for the tournament than assisting other guests. I watched two different people get turned away when trying to buy range balls, despite there being plenty of open space on the range. While the golf itself was enjoyable, the overall experience felt like we were second-class visitors. I don’t see much reason to return with so many other options around that treat all players with equal priority.

Coconuts In The Bay

We go to Fairway Hills a lot because their First Tee Program, for the kids, is great! I wish my parents taught me golf when I was younger. They have reasonably priced classes for kids 5 to 17. Classes run in the spring, summer, and fall. The kids learn golf by going to 4 stations, putting, chipping, driving, and taking the transporter out to one of the holes so they can play on the actual course. I gave 4 stars because there are not enough stations on the driving range in my opinion. When we go to hit balls, we usually have to wait for a station to open because they are always full. So if there ever revamp the course the first thing they should do is add more driving range bays. Price of range balls vary from $8 for 30 balls to $20 for 90 balls

A competent course. Some pretty holes. If you’re a walker you have your work cut out for you alot of distance between the holes. Staff very accommodating. Fairways in pretty good shape. Sans traps are not cared for or raked. Greens definitely stressed. And what’s with the forward tees in the middle of the fairway??
