First time at Sandy Burr Country Club and I had an amazing experience. Came here with a client and a few of his friends who had played here before, and it definitely lived up to the hype.
The course is very well laid out — a nice mix of drivable holes and longer challenges. The greens were in excellent shape and rolled true. I’m still in my sophomore year of golf, and shooting under 100 on a brand-new course felt like a big win. Even when I mixed up my Titleist AVX with another player’s ball, everyone laughed it off — just part of the game.
The pro shop had a solid selection of merch, and the bar and dining area are right on the main level. Bathrooms and locker rooms are located downstairs. Out back you get a great view of the course and a putting green (no chipping allowed). I also noticed some practice nets on the way in, which is a nice touch.
Overall, Sandy Burr exceeded expectations. The layout, conditions, and atmosphere made for a great round. Big thanks to whoever designed and maintains this course — you can tell there’s real care behind it.
👉 Pro tip: It can definitely be a walker’s course, but I took a cart since that’s what everyone else was doing.

Having played this course a few times, I can confidently say it’s one of my favorites. The hole design poses subtle challenges and opportunities.
The conditions are superb, from the fairways to the green: this is one of the most beautiful courses in the area. The native areas and wetlands are also integral to the course.
Overall an amazing course. Donald Ross’s legacy is well preserved here.

DONALD ROSS!!!! This golf course is one of his many jewels. Layout is amazing, very walkable, Some difficult holes requiring precise tee shots and approach shots. Lots of undulating greens. The course itself is in great shape, greens are firm, tee boxes are healthy. Fairways were all dry despite all the rain. Also a very good value. I highly recommend Sandy Burr
