Friend and I had a tee time (cool October day) and when my friend showed up in blue jeans (nice and clean) the manager turned him away. This is a public course and we offered apologies and asked for an exception to their policy. No exceptions and offered him to buy a pair of golf shorts. Friend said thanks but no as it was about 55 degrees outside. Manager then offered him to wear an old pair of rain pants he had in the back. We said thanks but no. Surprising that they would not offer an exception. I guess they didn't need our money or our business or any return business from us. It's their rules and we understand but it was a public course and not a private course. We called Laytonsville Golf Course (3.5 miles away) and they gave a tee time and we got off as soon as we arrived and paid. The staff at Laytonsville could not understand why Montgomery Village would turn us away based on one of us wearing blue jeans. Laytonsville was in great shape, we had a good time and shot low. We'll be back to Laytonsville and they will definitely have our return business.
