Looking for a round while visiting the area this came up as a good choice and I'd agree with the recommendation.
Welcoming staff in a lovely area. Decent range: mat currently but grass in drier weather it seems.
Couse is interesting, with plenty of elevation changes and turns of varying degrees during holes.
The greens are quick...beware landing in the wrong area as this can be very costly! If you are sensible you can score decently as the course isn't tricked up at all.
Course is in decent shape. Fairways good in most places although just been punched. Tee boxes could use some work as mentioned by others, but they are fine. Rough is good.
I would play here again.
Only suggestion : They were tining tee boxes and fairways while I was playing so I think they should have reduced the fee a touch or perhaps provided free range balls as it was a significant distraction on a few holes.
It's not cheap.

Ledges is a challenging but fair course with beautiful scenery in great location. The staff are all very friendly and the “regulars” are a group of serious, talented but fun golfers!! The rangers keep the golfers moving even during the busy summer season. The fairways are wide enough to land your tee shot but definitely make you pick your spots. This course will make you a better golfer and as a beginner I have been able to play it with choosing my layup areas carefully then gradually working on clearing the hazards. This is definitely one of the best “real” courses around the seacoast and does not have a bad hole.

I played the Ledges a number of years ago while on a vacation throughout New England. It was in nice shape and I found it challenged my game but was quite enjoyable.
