Absolutely horrendous course conditions. Unplayable at some spots. Ant mounds all over the greens and the tee boxes and fairways might as well be considered the rough. The picture with the ball in this review is from a tee box. Embarassing as an alumnus.

Course is in terrible shape, however that's not the worst part. Certain staff members are incredibly rude. I will never play again at the course due to that. Turned on sprinklers on 18 green well before the closing time. Proceed to kick us off of the course as we are about to hit our approach shots on 18. Claiming we cannot finish due to the sprinklers being on. Would have been more than willing to get soaked to finish the decent round I had. Would have finished the full 18 in well under 3 and a half hours. Was kicked off around 6:20. Carts are required to be in by 6:30 and we would have had more than enough time to finish the 18th hole and return the carts. Worst part is we were told the course closes at 7pm not even 6:30 by the staff member that went on to disrespect us. Never in my life have I had an experience like this at a golf course. If you want to pay 22 dollars to play a field with dirt and flags, and get absolutely disrespected for no apparent reason, then this is the spot for you. Not only is this a bad representation of the course, but a terrible representation of LSU, and if I was them I would cut ties with this employee immediately.

This course is an absolute disaster and complete embarrassment, both as a graduate of the university and as a taxpayer of Louisiana. I played here 15 years ago and it was nice back then. Today, the fairways are cut about four inches tall so balls get lost in the fairway. Ponds and ditches are FULL of beer cans and empty vodka bottles. Half the tee boxes are missing the tee markers and every single green is full of weeds and some greens even have flowers actively growing on them. The sand traps are dirtier than the Grand Isle beaches, and probably have more diseases growing in them! I read the bad reviews ahead of time but for the price, I figured it’d be worth trying, but I’m here to tell you that all the terrible reviews are true. Nobody’s exaggerating in their reviews. LSU needs to just close the course if they’re not going to give a damn about keeping it up.
