Golfing in Hutchinson is a real treat, and this course is a gem. The layout is well-designed, with a mix of wide, forgiving fairways and tighter, more challenging holes that keep you on your toes. The greens were in excellent shape—smooth, quick, and consistent throughout the round.
What really stood out was how well-maintained the course is. The scenery around Hutchinson adds to the experience, with open Kansas skies, mature trees, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes for a relaxing day of golf.
The staff was welcoming and professional, and the pace of play moved along nicely without feeling rushed. The driving range and practice areas were also in great condition, which made warming up before teeing off enjoyable.
Overall, whether you’re a local looking for a regular spot to play or visiting Hutchinson for golf, this course is absolutely worth a round. It’s a place I’ll definitely return to.

Carey Park Golf Course recently hosted the $A Girls State Golf Tourney. Everyone on the staff in the pro shop, grill and on the course were excellent. Not being a golfer I can't comment on the intricacies of the turf, height of the rough etc. For the record I should note that charging $50 per round for spectator cart fees is excessive but I suspect this is a KSHSAA decision not the course as it seemed to be same at all the KSHSAA sites.

Hutchinson is very lucky to have such a nice public course. Facilities are very nice and the pro shop has a great selection (buy something after you play!!). Every staff member including the grounds crew were very cordial and took time to help us enjoy our first visit. Pace of play was good. Course is not too tough, but keep it down the middle. The course is well maintained and in really good shape for late August. There is a zoo, water park and picnic areas all inside carey park. What a great facility for a family outing. We'll be back....
