The rolling hills, open ponds, and trees make this location a challenging and engaging course. The only thing I would point out: we arrived early for our tee time and were bossed around by the pro shop attendant and were rushed to the first tee box. This was mildly stressful and we were quite confused by the rush. Also, twice on the course, our cart was hit by a golf ball. The other players did not call out to warn us.

Gross and scary!
I used to love this course, but things have been going downhill. The last time I played the female owner gave me the dirtiest, oldest cart I have ever been given at a golf course! The seat was wet and had dust/mold/mildew on it. See the attached picture. I have never had a cart at Deer Track where the seat wasn’t wiped off, so I was shocked when I sat down and the entire seat of my pants was instantly soaked. When I got off the seat at my car to load my stuff, there was a cleared area where the dust/mold/mildew transferred to the seat of my pants. I used cleaning wipes in my car to wipe off the seat, then when I went to put my clubs on the back, there were a bunch of spider webs (with spiders) on the back of the cart. I used my golf towel to swat away spider webs, instead of its normal function of cleaning my clubs/balls off during the round. This is the third cart the female owner has given me that was terrible. The first time I noticed her intentionally giving me a crappy cart was when she said she was going to give me a “return” cart that some other golfer had used, and she hadn’t cleaned yet. There were tons of carts cleaned and ready to go, but she gave me a return cart instead. I am not sure who she is saving the clean, newer carts for but it is not a person who has played in one of their leagues for 8 years.
I also was stunned to find myself near a HUGE hornet’s nest between the 10 and 18 fairways, when my ball landed near a tree by the cart path on both my drives for those holes. See the attached picture. The other golfer in my cart pointed out the sign identifying there was a nest in a high traffic area that most golfers go near on the cart path twice per round. There were a ton of hornets flying around. I was concerned I was going to get stung. I don’t understand letting it get that big, when a lot of people are allergic to them. For me, I just didn’t want the painful sting. Scary and not what you want to have to deal with during a golf round!
On top of all that, they aren’t doing basic things like putting the 100 and 150 yardage markers in the fairways any more, no towels hanging on the ball washers near the tee boxes, being friendly at the check in desk (female owner is rude/dismissive), etc. I won’t be back ever again, despite loving the league I played in at Deer Track. ☹

I had a great time at Deer Track. It was my first visit here and I was very impressed. The staff in the clubhouse were very kind and personable. The course was in good condition for the season and offered some challenges without being frustratingly difficult. There’s also a couple holes with a good amount of change in elevation which is always fun.
This is a great course for the price. I recommend anyone who loves a good time playing the game to check out Deer Track.
