Tamarack Country Club Tee Times

Dog track of a course. Every fairway was nearly burnt up and had to play the ball 20 yards short on every shot to adjust for roll out on the concrete greens. Played on a Saturday morning and took 2 hours and 40 minutes to make the turn. Never saw a ranger out on the course keeping pace throughout the round. 8 minute tee times are too close together. At the turn, we go into the Pro Shop to get rain checks as we didn’t have 5+ hours to play a round. Guy at the counter says can’t do it just because it’s busy. Right above his head there is a sign that says “Customers on the course less than 3 hours will be offered 9-Hole Rain Checks.” Point that out and he still has a rebuttal. Didn’t feel like arguing with the guy so we left. I will keep taking my business to Stonewolf, where at least you feel that the price you pay is adequate with the customer service of the staff and quality of the course. Won’t play here if it’s the last course on Earth.

Nice and quiet tucked away location. Beautiful scenery on and surrounding the course. The course is challenging and forgiving with wide fairways. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Worth the drive from St. Louis.

Beware of “Ranger Rick”. Took my girlfriend golfing after driving 5 hours to visit her, we got there early enough to beat the league play and started on the back 9. About 3 holes in “Ranger Rick” creepily rolled up and demanded that we play faster to avoid league play (they were 6 holes behind us). He continued to watch us from afar for the next 3 holes prompting us to play faster and that we needed to skip holes. I paid $66 for the two of us to play, which isn’t bad, but being rushed and watched for half of the time was both uncomfortable and frustrating. The final time he stopped us I had enough. He insisted we skip the hole we were halfway done with and talked to us about the situation for over 5 minutes. I told him that we were wasting more time talking to him then actually finishing the hole. We finished the rest of the back 9 with no problems with anyone behind us, playing at an average speed. When we dropped to cart off at the club house, I talked to the front desk worker who was very understanding and the nicest person there. So if you’re wanting to play at this course and are sort of new or play a little slower, be cautious of “Ranger Rick”. I will not be coming back. Thank you “Ranger Rick” for ruining my long awaited date with my girlfriend.

Course wasn’t in bad shape greens looked like we just had a hail storm. Stopped!!! 2 times in front nine for slow play even though we finished front in 2 hours. No cart girl. Overall way too… expensive for a non challenging course with people with bad attitudes. We finished right at 4 hours . Won’t go back again!!!!

I want to give it a 5 stars but it was extremely wet," not there fault". It was cart path only so things went slower than we were hoping. We needed to cut it short after 9 holes and the manager was completely understanding and gave us a rain check for the back 9. I recommend it and we will be back.
