Hughes Creek course has an intriguing layout, and certainly better than many municipal courses.
Pros:
-Staff are friendly and getting the job done
- Maintenance of the course is pretty good for a municipal course.
-Plenty of terrain, sand, water and trees to factor in as potential hazards
- Greens rolled very true for mid-season, although many ball marks were present on the greens.
Cons:
-I wouldn't recommend playing here after rain, as there was a lot of standing water in sand traps and on fairways.
-Some tee boxes needed more maintenance and repair work
-Same can be said about cart paths, although there is evidence they are upgrading the paths in places
-Carts were average at best. They need a GPS, and at least some sand, so you can sand divots on fairways.
-I dont think their standard weekday rates for Friday are competitive with other courses in the area. A bit overpriced.
-No drinking water on the course.
-We didn't see a beverage cart on the course, and for a mid-day Friday round it's surprising.
Overall, it's a nice course if you're in the area, and I'll certainly play it again. Enjoy your round!
