Decent experience. Inexpensive course, but needs better upkeep. We didn’t think it was a great value. Few hazards, but greens are small and some fairways are tight, which we felt made the course relatively challenging. Took just under 5 hours to ride 18, rangers pushing pace of play would have been beneficial.
We were told there would be brats, dogs and polish sausages for lunch. When we stopped at the turn there was a single bratwurst (pictured) available for purchase, and although it was tasty, we were disappointed. The course also ran out of carts around noon, which didn’t impact my round but was a huge bummer for other golfers. I don’t think this place is built to accommodate a fully booked day of tee times.

Pleasant course with lots of trees and very little water, very quiet and serene... lots of wild turkeys and no goose poop!! Course maintenance on lots of little things frustrated me!! 1. No water in the bucket for towels at hole#1. 2. The fairways and rough had the same length of cut which often times made easy fairway shots difficult to find which slowed pace. 3. Ball scrubbers and towels poorly maintained at every hole!! 4. About 4 greens showed long term damage with no visible signs of attempted repair.

Needs better upkeep. The grass is not cut and you will loose a lot of balls. There is literally a hole in the green on 14 and the course does not drain well. Yesterday holes 2,3, & 4 were closed and there were no tee markers on any holes. Billy Casper (the operator) and the Cook County Forest Preserve needs to do better.
The staff is nice but the upkeep of the course is poor :-(
