Got out of meetings early and decided to the Pali a try. This course has a lot of potential unfortunately it doesn’t seem the city (muni course) is willing to spend the money. It is a somewhat easy and straightforward track, where 95% is dead straight which is good for beginners and families. And the views from around the course are amazing, and those that many courses would kill to have. As others have stated the staff is very friendly and welcoming which is always nice. Now the downside, there are no fairways, it’s like playing in a field that hasn’t been mowed and is being overtaken by weeds. The greens all are damaged in one form or another, and saying they are slow is an understatement. It was early Friday afternoon when I played , and there was a good amount of maintenance personnel I saw, unfortunately I’m not sure what they were doing. When finished I asked if they were in water restrictions, and was looked at like I was crazy. I’m disappointed that I had to pay $112 as a non-resident for a course in such poor shape with such potential. Unfortunately I will be avoiding this in future trips till I start to see things change. But if you want a “course” with some good views this definitely has it.

No cafe, no branded merchandise, cans of soda from a cooler on the floor, no kama’aina rates, they don’t pick up the phone, rundown dirty bathrooms, rundown club house, poor layout of the course (hole progression is not natural), out of service tee boxes and bridges, and the greens are a joke (see photo). They just don’t put any effort into this place. The surrounding green mountain views and the big old trees on the course are just beautiful, but the course itself is in horrible shape.

5 stars for the views alone. First tee time for an awesome sunrise. Course is in okay shape for the most part. So green everywhere. It’s a muni so don’t expect world class, but it’s good.
