Bacon Park Golf Course is one of the most beautiful and special places in Savannah. The setting is truly stunning — with majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss that sway gently overhead as you make your way along the course. It’s not just a golf course — it’s a sanctuary. The sounds of birds filling the air throughout the day lift your spirits and remind you how close to nature you are.
The course itself is impeccably maintained — from the pristine fairways to the sparkling greens. Every corner feels loved and cared for. The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming — they make you feel like family from the moment you arrive.
But what makes Bacon Park extra special is the neighborhood that surrounds it. It’s full of history, charm, and Southern hospitality. I live off the 11th hole, and this place has become my forever home. I love watching my brother and sister gear up to play when they visit — it’s one of our special family traditions.
Whether you’re a golfer or just want to experience a peaceful escape, this course is worth the visit. You’ll fall in love with it — just like I have.

Very bad golf experience here. I am from out of town and wanted to play some golf in the Savannah area. Decided to give bacon park a try. I paid $56 for $20 greens and constantly found myself lost for lack of any visible cart path. Seriously, the cart paths are non existent and confusing. Also for some reason you are not able to park the golf carts next to your vehicle, which makes loading and unloading a pain. I quite after the first nine and tried to get half my money back, but the pro at the shop was super defensive (the only quality of this course that is consistent with any other course in Georgia 😂) and offered me a rain check. I said sure, but then he played like he couldn’t figure out how to get me a rain check 🫠. I told him to just save his time, and that the chances of me coming back are slim anyway. I think he got a little embarrassed, and I felt a little bad, so I will say… I only played the front 9, the back nine could have been great 🤷🏼♂️

This course is well maintained. Some of the greens were a little rough but not enough to spoil the round. Overall in good condition, challenging but forgiving. Played at the senior rate which was very reasonable. I would recommend this course if you are in the area.

Bacon Park has received many negative reviews over the last few months and it had me worried. Most of the reviews I saw were about the terrible greens. Allow me to say that they have been working very hard to restore these greens and most of them are in prestige condition! Some are still not great but way better than before and not bad at all. Great day at this golf course!

I’ve played this course a handful of times with buddies and it’s usually fine, but today is what finally made me write this review. We showed up around 4:15–4:20 to hit a quick bucket, warm up, and then play nine holes at a fast pace, which was absolutely doable with a little over an hour of daylight left(civil twilight beginning at 5:45). The staff immediately pushed back. The woman at the front desk gave me a hard time about not having enough time to play, then turned around and asked if we wanted to walk or take a cart. Uhhhh what???That made no sense. If you’re already telling us time is tight, obviously we’d take a cart. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily difficult. On top of that, this cantankerous old man came out from the back and flat-out told us we wouldn’t have time to play, which was just wrong, since we easily had enough time for a 8/9 holes.
The course itself is decent, but for what they charge, the greens and overall conditions don’t really match the price. The bigger issue is the staff, who are consistently rude and make the experience more frustrating than it needs to be. If you’re just looking to get out with some buddies and play relatively cheap golf, it’s not the worst option, but there are definitely better-run courses out there.
