After reading tons of horrible reviews for this place, I decided I had to check it out and see what it was really like. Booked a 8:20am tee time for 2 for $57 on the Friday after Christmas. We had a great experience and will definitely consider coming back (price dependent). It’s a great bang for your buck as the nicer courses are all over $100 to play this time of year. The clubhouse was very relaxed. Driving range and putting green small but very convenient. We drove up to the tee box at 8:14 and there was a three-some waiting on the tee ahead of us. The starter said they got there early and would go tell them that we were ahead of them. Very nice move. Pace of play was exactly on for a 4 hour round even while busy. The overall course conditions itself were not “nice”, but they were plenty good enough to have a very enjoyable round and great for the price comparatively. Tee boxes definitely weren’t very flat, so have to find a flat spot to hit from which wasn’t hard. The greens were slow and seemed like they needed to be cut for the majority of holes. But rolled pretty true and were good to have a fun round on. Fairways were kept up nicely. Course layout was decent. (We loved how there was a long 7,000+ tee option) There was a pro option, back option, middle option, and so forth. Tee markers were great on the tee boxes. Very clear which tees were which. Our twosome were single digit handicaps who carry our drives 270-280 - we played the “back” tees which was 6,300 I believe. Layed up on most holes off the tee and had 125-135 into 7-9 of the holes. Course layout wasn’t great from the back tee option, but did pose some challenges with bunker and water placement. We should’ve played the pro option in my opinion because it would’ve been more of a challenge. I’d definitely recommend a round here if you’re a casual golfer wanting to save money on green fees, and you don’t care about how nice the course is.

In a way it saddens me to write this review, this is a golf course that several of my friends and I have enjoyed playing on for the past 2-3 years.
Until the treatment we received this past Saturday 2/14/26:
- Had a 7:56 TT
- There were two younger gentlemen behind us that skipped the first hole and played ahead, all good with that, there was no one in front of us
- We got to the 5th hole and the Ranger (who I have never seen before), asked us to pick up our drive’s because the pair in front we 2 holes ahead. I explained that they skipped us and played ahead and they were probably good players, but we said sure and the ranger said thank you and you guys will get a free drink at the end of the round. We said Thank You.
- When we got to the 9th hole we were greeted by the Manager (I think that his title, I’ve seen him before)
- The Manager said that we were playing too slow the pair in front of us were on the 12th hole, and we had to leave the course or leave the course and they will refund our fee’s ( I thought that was a strange set of options, leave now or leave now with your money back…)
-I explained to the Manager the same as we did the Ranger
- Also we said to the Manager that it took us 1 hour and 50 minutes to play the front 9
- If we finished the front 9 in that time and the pair in front were on hole 12, they must have completed the front 9 in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (my estimation)
And I have the time stamp on my refund receipt to support the 1 hour and 50 minute front nine we played
In my humble opinion I feel that the Ranger and the Manager could have looked at the elapsed time of our front nine and made a different decision.
I do not feel that because there are better skilled players in front of us (who were on a 3 hour 18 hole pace), that it is up to the players behind them to keep that same pace.
We went from being offered a free drink at the end of the round to being told we had to leave after an 1 hour and 50 minute front 9.
Safe to say that there are several of us who will never play at Crane Watch again, and maybe management does not care, but we enjoyed playing there in the past, unfortunately this happened.

Would give them zero if I could. Had a foursome booked called and cancelled 3 days in advance they ended up charging me for the 4. I called and they will only offer another foursome. They will not credit my money back. Services that never happened. They are an absolute SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away
I should have read the other reviews they do this all the time to people. I cancelled outside the 24 hours a woman answered the phone and said she would cancel and she didn't. I did nothing wrong I followed the rules.

If I could give a lower score I would. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. However, driving range is 200 yards max, greens are being redone. More sand than grass even on the practice ones. Pace of play is a joke and no starter or staff member monitoring pace. We went out for a 940 tee time and didn't arrive to the 3rd tee box until 10:20 only to find the sprinklers on. Water hitting the tee boxes. Called the clubhouse at that point and requested a refund which they gave with no issue. I understand the course needs to be maintained and worked on, but it needs to be advertised. No where on the website did it state work was being done and we booked online the previous night, but it also wasn't disclosed upon checking in and paying either. We golf a couple times a week every week and have ever had an experience quite like this before. Especially for the price they were still charging, there are way better courses to play around here.

The Crane Watch Club will soon be one of the best courses in Martin County. Gorgeous clubhouse and pro shop, running bev cart, good menu at the active bar & restaurant, and the employees are extremely friendly and attentive. The owner & new superintendent are doing a phenomenal job at improving the course, but even now it’s in great condition. Love this beautiful course!
