I’ve been playing this course for several years and the service BY FAR is the standard on how to not treat your customers.
Checked radar 1 hour before tee time and we thought we were in the clear and booked online through Killians website… I totally understand there is a cancellation policy but that’s not the point of this post.
The fun starts when we arrive 30 mins after purchasing our tee time. Rain was on the horizon and we asked the pro shop to cancel our booking given that there was a massive storm outside. We were greeted with the “sorry no refunds.” The girl at the pro shop said we can make up a fake story about a family emergency. Golf is a game of integrity.
Long story short they wouldn’t give us our money back and sent us out with the course underwater.
Shame on Killian for not caring for the customers. No wonder people keep poisoning the greens. I wish you guys the best. Stop giving this course money until they take a class on customer service.

I’ve played a lot of golf , but I’ve never dealt with someone as rude and unprofessional as the ranger, Ron Simpson. From the moment our round started, he had an attitude—talking down to players, rushing our group without reason, and generally killing the whole vibe of the day. A ranger is supposed to help keep things moving and make the experience better, not make golfers feel unwelcome.
The course itself is decent, but the customer service was bad enough that I won’t be coming back. If management cares about their reputation, they seriously need to address Ron’s behavior.

Terrible, unfriendly service and tries to upcharge customers additional fees. Scammy behavior, not recommended.
We were 12 players and paid the greenfees for 12 people up front before teeoff. One of our players came 10 min late after the group and had to rent clubs. Proshop refused to rent him the clubs and let him on the course without paying for additional greenfees, which we already had paid for.
They also refuse to refund the individuals greenfee that was not let onto the course, even after presenting the receipts.

I have been playing golf since 2021
I consider myself a average golfer play with family and friends
However today made the mistake of Inviting two of my best customers and friends .
Ranger Ron Simpson disrespect my self and my customers my harassing us constantly to push forward even when we thought it was not safe to tee off when players are on the fairway
The way he speaks to customers is not professional at all it’s not the message it’s the way you deliver the message. I am going to choose another club more friendly and professional

For perspective, I checked my 18 Birdies app and confirmed that I played over 30 rounds at this course in 2025 and have already played another four so far in 2026. I have played at this course for many years and knew it when it was still called Crooked Creek (way back in the day). My point is that I speak from experience and with some context historically.
The course is not in great shape, though efforts have been made to improve the greens and tee boxes more recently, they are middling at best. The fairways are rough and the bunkers are like concrete.
Staff - rangers and clubhouse alike - aren’t trained to be customer centric. In fact, I can see why some reviewers say they are rude and disinterested.
All that said, let’s be honest about something. The course is in the shape it is in partly because the so called “golfers” that play on it haven’t a modicum of understanding of the rules, customs and etiquette of the game. Duffers will chunk divots in the course and not sand them or replace the grass, I’ve seen imbeciles driving carts onto the green and tearing them up and the shankapotamuses that try to fish balls out of the ponds and back yards and holding up pace of play. Hands down, my “favorite” is the two foursomes collapsing into an eightsomes so they can hang out without any regard to those behind.
Management should enforce pace of play and remove violators of the rules. Do that a few times and word will get out that this is a serious course. Post the Ten Commandments of golf etiquette and enforce them.
Golfers: if you’re lying six on a par four, for God’s sake pick up your ball and move on. Golf is a game of courtesy and respect. If you’re playing slow and being pressed, let the group behind you play through and apologize for being a beginner. If your group, as a whole, is not good, play best ball and stop pretending you need six practice swings to chunk a ball ten feet. Get over yourself. Leave your Bluetooth speakers at home. Stop fishing for balls in ponds, they’re $1 on Amazon.
Management: train your staff. They need to be better. We have options for spending our recreational dollars and the better you make the experience the more likely you are to see more of those dollars. Fire Alberto (unless he’s related to one of you, in which case, put him on the back nine where he can do less damage).
Make sure the carts are clean. Clean up the pro shop and the bathroom for goodness sake. Enforce the rules. Boot some people off the course for conduct unbecoming of a golfer. Advertise that you are kicking people out for being idiots. It will help your business.
