Black Bear Golf Club Florida Tee Times

We had fun. I've golfed here for the winter season the last 20 years. This time, the greens were very fast. The lack of rain/watering is a constant at this course. It would be more fun hitting from grass v. sand. The course looks old as there are no updates, other than the driving range. We'll keep coming back and hopefully there will be grass.

I’ve heard a lot about this course being “the best kept secret“ this course should stay a secret. What more can I say? The greens are painted to look green and they are full of weeds, the bunkers are hard as a rock, this course looks like it has remained the same since it’s opening. They are doing maintenance on the light fixtures and driving range when they should be maintaining their greens, if you have ever played Polo Park in Davenport, this is a glorified version of that except here you’ll be paying four times the price. This is what I would classify as a catfish course. It looks good in pictures but in person it’s a 400 pound woman asking you to take her to Cheesecake Factory. Do not believe the lies of the other reviews if you have any self-respect, you will think the same about this course like I do. I drove one hour to try this course. I wouldn’t drive 10 minutes for it.

They rushed us in the middle of a hole and made us skip two holes of 9! 😤 Tried to ask for a small partial refund to be fair, and they refused. A few bucks could have earned them 5 stars.

We absolutely love it here. The staff are warm and attentive. The course is uniquely designed—fun and full of challenges. Our child especially has fallen in love with this place. If it weren’t for the heavy rain and thunder, we would have enjoyed the full round. That’s why we’re coming back again this week.

5 star course layout, 4 star pro shop + facility (for a rural area), 3 star course condition. The golf course is probably one of the best in the area that features wide open links style. You fight against the elements of wind, undulating green and unforgiving bunkers. At some holes in the back nines, I thought I was in Ireland. P.B. Dye did a great job designing this golf course. But the course conditions make me think twice about coming back here even at a discounted green fee. If you are not a serious golfer, then it would be a great opportunity to learn to play link style golf course. But if you are a serious golfer and every shot counts, then you will be disappointed.
