This course is definitely not worth $100. The layout is great, but that’s about it. The starter was extremely nice and did what he could to accommodate pace of play, but the course was clearly overbooked. We had a 1:00 tee time and still waited over 30 minutes on the first tee. The tee boxes were also in terrible condition. Pace of play was so slow that we only made it to hole 13 before dusk.
I attached pictures of 5 different groups at the first hole and tee boxes (picture doesn’t do it justice the tee boxes were bad)

We got off the plane Sunday afternoon and headed straight to the course. Everything was great but greens were a bit slow. We stopped in again on Thursday on our way back to the airport and the greens were like lightning and very true. Overall the course was excellent.

Emerald Hills Golf Club truly lives up to its reputation as one of Florida’s most challenging and enjoyable courses. The service throughout the day was excellent, with staff who were friendly, attentive, and made you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you arrived. The layout itself is impressive, stretching out as the longest course in Florida, and you can feel it on every hole. Each shot demands both power and precision, offering a rewarding test for golfers who appreciate a serious challenge.
The fairways played beautifully and were in great shape, allowing for consistent play all around. The greens, while a little rough in a few spots, didn’t take away from the experience. They still rolled true and were well maintained overall. That minor imperfection was far outweighed by the course’s overall quality, design, and energy.
Emerald Hills combines classic Florida golf scenery with a professional-level layout, and the level of service ties it all together. It’s a course worth traveling for and one that leaves you eager to return.
