My golf stay cation, playing the four corners of the state, concluded today in Norwalk at Oak Hills Park. The course is in great shape and the foliage was still beautiful. Unfortunately for me, I scheduled my vacation the week they aerated the greens, so they were still sandy. Fortunately for me, my partner and I agreed that ALL second putts were good! The staff was friendly and helpful.
It was my honor to have been paired with Frank , who said he has played Oak Hills Park 300 times a year since he retired 20 years ago! Not only is he knowledgeable about the course and it's recent history, he is just a super nice man. Golf is a social sport, meant to share with friends. Frank and I shared some great conversation and he is living proof that you don't have to hit the ball a long way as long as you can consistently hit it down the middle! I am inspired!
I hope to return to Oak Hills, perhaps this next Spring!

First time playing here and really enjoyed it. It's a great course for beginners or intermediate players like myself. Fairways can be tight but very playable. The greens are challenging in that they are wavy and irregular, but nicely kept. The greenery, flowers, water and bunkers make it visibly pleasing. The lounge/restaurant looked great and the pro shop was nicely stocked.

A bit uppity here. The staff really think this course is more than it is. At 86$ with a cart the experience doesn't meet the price. Carts are in poor repair. Courses are decent but the rangers swarm around and do nothing about pacing. Sat in a line constantly waiting to tee off.
Could go a little bit more up the parkway and find better.
