Taking the time to give Steamboat Golf Club the 5star review they deserve! On summer vacation and my 9year old, who is an avid golfer, wanted to play while in Steamboat. I called the staff to ask about loaning junior clubs and a tee time 2 days prior to playing. They were more than accommodating on the phone and the day of tee time. Upon arrival, Jules in pro shop helped get us set up w loaner clubs, we purchased golf balls and they paired us up w 2 others. The course was great, very playable and in solid condition. Very walkable and beautiful. I highly recommend taking the time to visit them. I would go back.

I was looking for a decent, reasonably priced course that was good for an ordinary golfer. When I started my first round I thought I found exactly what I was looking for. However, as I progressed through the nine holes I realized that the course didn't even meet my low expectations. The cart paths were like a rural driveway that had never been maintained, covered with water-filled potholes and as rough as a mountain path. The tee boxes were not very flat and at times it was hard to find a small flat area to hit from. Parts of the course were like a swamp. Fortunately these areas were clearly marked. It seemed like I was sharing the fairway with the lawnmowers for too many holes. The greens were pretty well maintained and the power cart was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I did a second round and that was a relative bargain. I will look for a different course next time I visit Steamboat Springs.
