If you’ve ever wanted to pay $76 to play golf in a post-apocalyptic pasture, Antler Creek is your dream come true. Tucked away in beautiful Peyton, Colorado—where elevation is apparently code for “we stopped trying”—this course offers the full experience: dead grass, crusty dirt, and bunkers that double as rock gardens.
Let’s talk course conditions. The fairways are patchy mosaics of dead turf and weeds, and the greens? Oh, you mean the goose poop gardens. They were so littered with droppings it felt more like playing through a bird sanctuary than a golf course. As a bonus, the geese will glare at you like you’re trespassing on their tee time. Which, honestly, you probably are—since there’s no starter, no check-in, and tee times seem to be more of a suggestion than anything official.
The bunkers are a joke—if you’ve ever hit out of a sandbox full of weeds and concrete, then congratulations, you’ve been here before. The layout is confusing, with entire parts of the course roped off randomly like they’re under quarantine. The only thing more useless than the layout were the marshals, who zipped around the course like bored mall cops, overseeing the slowest pace of play imaginable without actually doing anything about it.
And when we asked the pro shop staff why the course looked like it hadn’t seen water or effort in a decade, their answer was, “It’s because of the elevation.” Ah yes, the classic “blame the altitude” defense—because apparently gravity pulls grass quality downhill here.
There are other courses in the area, at the same elevation, for less money, that actually have grass and functioning staff. I live nearby and I’d still rather drive an hour than ever come back. If they offered a free round with a cart, lunch, and a foot massage from Rory McIlroy, I’d still politely decline.
If you’re feeling nostalgic for that abandoned lot behind your old high school, but wish it had more goose feces and disappointment—Antler Creek is calling.

The course saw some improvements this year. Namely the greens and tee boxes however there is still a lot of work to be done. I think the price is fair for what you're getting. It'd be nice if drainage, weeding, fluffing and new sand were completed on all bunkers.
Keep in mind as someone stated recently that the fairways are hard and dry. It's November in Colorado. Be happy you're playing at all. The water has been shut off for winter and the grass is going dormant.
I'd like to see goose fencing on the greens. There are resident Canadians that live on the course typically at the holes that have ponds adjacent. It's also migration season so geese and goose crap is expected.
This used to be the longest course in the country but the blind tee shots and course conditions make that title seem lame. Please try and park your cart on high ground as you search for your ball to avoid being hit into.
There are a couple drivable par 4's I think 4 and 18. 18 needs a special flag because the driving range flags make it confusing.
Overall this course needs work but it's a very challenging course none the less. I think local rules dictate that you can place your ball on the nearest grass or outside the bunker given their condition. Hey we. Aren't Pro's that get free clubs anytime we want. Protect your equipment.
Overall it's a cool place. Pretty lax with tee times if a group in front is playing slow ask to play through. And don't play the tips unless you're a long ball hitter.

Worst course I've ever played. For the money we were expecting much more and the crazy course conditions ruined the day. Colorado springs city courses are much cheaper and 10 times better maintained.

Worst golf course I’ve played. Way over priced at $76 for rock hard fairways and greens that feel like concrete. Fairways were a mixture of dead grass, gravel, and dirt. When you hit a green, it bounces off like you’d hit a cart path. Antler Creek, do better with maintaining your course. Either lower your prices to match the conditions, or maintain the course to match the price. Absolute waste of money here.
