Fairmont Grand Del Mar is a sophisticated and exclusive sanctuary of peace, nestled in an idyllic setting with lush landscapes and elegant architecture. Its location offers breathtaking views and easy access to nearby attractions. The staff consistently exceed expectations, creating an atmosphere of luxury and comfort. They’ll make you feel like royalty. Notably, Nok and Jay were exceptional—attentive, efficient, and personable. Nok ensured my stay was seamless by managing every detail flawlessly. Meanwhile, Jay drove me safely to the airport, turning the ride into an enjoyable and relaxed experience. The spa provided a haven of tranquility, where the calming ambiance complemented the exceptional treatments. I couldn’t recommend a better masseuse than Ryan, whose technique combined deep relaxation with therapeutic precision—one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced. Lastly, Amaya offers over-the-top, delicious, and freshly prepared meals, beautifully presented and made with high-quality ingredients. I ate every bite with pleasure. Nadya was a lovely and attentive server, enhancing the dining experience. I can’t wait to return. I love it here and look forward to my next visit.

Our stay was unforgettable— I’m already planning our return trip! If you can, book a poolside room. Opening the doors and stepping out to the courtyard elevates the whole stay. For a special occasion, book the high tea in advance and you may be be lucky enough to get serenaded by the pianist. Kara listened really well to us and tailored our tea experience, kudos to her. Joel managed to bring by a couple of our favorite tea bags before our departure, talk about making special happen. SPEND YOUR TIME ON THE PROPERTY, sunbathe by the spa or overlooking the golf area, go to the Preserve shop, walk the grounds, have the best dinner right there on site. There is something special going on there everyday, lots to try. What truly sets the place apart are the people. Evelyn greeted us at the pool, Rustin not only recommended a whole plan for us, but his little hand motion when saying “thank you” was such a special touch. Shea, Carlos and Andrea were great to meet, all so gracious. Ignacio was a familiar face as well as our favorite, Nadia she made us feel taken care of in the most special way. Victoria and Maria Rosales kept the room tidy, and really the entire team was incredible. Considering the craziness going on in the world, the Del Mar feels like an escape to an oasis. Don’t overbook your schedule. Just arrive, settle in, and let the property (and the people) take care of the rest. A special thank you to Nenad.

Stayed here for a work event and the property is beautiful! Came in with a big work group and we had events and lunches/dinners throughout the hotel. The employees were very kind and welcoming. A lot of us were from the Midwest so we were a little intimidated. We had a big group so I’m sure it was a lot to handle but everyone made us feel at home. Our trip was filled with tons of meetings but when we were able to relax being at the hotel felt magical. Andrea was a bartender for all of our events and she went out of her way many times for us. She was very welcoming and personable. Really made us feel comfortable. One colleague was just casually talking to her and saying she was bummed she didn’t get more coffee before it got taken away. We had a long travel day. She proceeds to walk back into the hotel because our event was outside made her a fresh cup and said she would gladly make her another one if she desired. Such hospitality! Our last night was an awards dinner and we all had such a blast! The food was yummy and there was dancing. We then ended the night at the Lounge! Some of us got to explore the area more but there was nothing like coming back to the hotel. Thank you!

What an absolute slice of heaven. This place isn’t just beautiful — it’s truly magical. The service is impeccable and genuinely second to none. If you have the pleasure of meeting Niel at the front desk, you’ll quickly see how effortlessly he goes above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. And if you’re lucky enough to cross paths with Rustin around the property, you’ll find an absolute gem — someone who genuinely wants you to relax, enjoy, and live your very best life while you’re there. I cannot wait to return and once again feel completely taken care of — like royalty from start to finish.

We stayed here three nights while visiting colleges. Our check in experience was not good - we were not given a map of the property or explained what sort of activities and amenities are included in the additional $70 a day. We booked through Expedia and were not aware that this property has valet parking only, which is an additional $70 a day. So just be aware that on top of your daily room rate there is an additional $140 fee plus taxes. We’ve stayed at a few other Fairmont properties and found the staff, services and overall atmosphere much more welcoming and more of a 5 star hotel experience. In my opinion, the total cost of the stay was not worth it.
